I think the worry now is that the committee was banking on an upset to avoid the ND Miami head to head. Probably unavoidable at this point.
Or they could avoid it by ranking ND over Oklahoma, which should happen. Oklahoma isn’t good.

According to whom?Bama is not getting left out. The argument is a non starter.
Honestly, the committee is set up for failure by weekly rankings
They had three losses last year and lost their bowl. The committee was vindicated.I agree Bama is not getting left out AGAIN.
Maybe, maybe not. They got their asses kicked by FSU. They got beat at home by an offensively-challenged OK team. 3 losses is going to be a tough hill to overcome, regardless of the name of the school.I agree Bama is not getting left out AGAIN.
Flip it to a bunch of 24 year old Mormons and we'd be having the same morning!Excited to explain to my wife at 9pm tn why I’m pissed about a fucking committee of geriatrics deciding my football team’s fate.
Don’t do that man, we like you here.I agree they should have been left out last year. And I agree they should be left out this year if UGA beats them. With all that said, all signs point to them in....like to the point, I'd bet my life.
Their excuse for losing to FSU was that they didn't have Jam Miller.Don’t do that man, we like you here.
If they get blown out by UGA how do you keep them in?
I think because the main hill the committee is still willing to die on is not punishing losers in conference championships. I hate Bama as much as the next guy, but at this point we are WAAAY more on the bubble than them.Don’t do that man, we like you here.
If they get blown out by UGA how do you keep them in?
That Wisconsin team is actually a very good comparison, as they lost week 1 to LSU and dropped an ugly one to Northwestern. I don't have the time to go look, but I wonder if they would have been a bubble team before the championship game and needed a win to get in. That is the big difference, I wish Bama was ranked 13 right now. There will eventually be a 59-0 beat down in a CCG like OSU did to Wisconsin in 2014 and the committee will look like absolute fools for saying no punishment. It's coming and it may be this year for all we know.
This is exactly how I see it with maybe Oregon and A&M flipped if the B10 champ game is down to the wire.Seems the committee wants ND & BAMA in bc they believe they are 2 out of the best 12.
By slotting Bama above ND (which in reality might be fair at this point) they give them the ensured spot & ND is reliant on the BYU loss. Of course there is the possibility they get blown out & fall behind ND & they need the BYU loss.. but let’s go with the former.
If BYU proves they can do what no one thinks they can & beat Texas Tech then they have earned their spot & Tech knocks ND out.. which would honestly bother me bc their resume with 2 losses is kind of gross. But again.. they won’t be punished enough to drop below ND for losing the extra game.
Fuck Miami, Vanderbilt & Utah.. The committee has already judged them & they needed more chaos to get in. Cry me a river.
I had a mini panic attack remembering Techs coach lobbying for BYU to get in & thinking “omg what if they threw the game” & quickly realized how moronic that would be as they’d be giving up a first round bye.
Also, Ole Miss losing their entire offensive hive mind is a brutal loss.. They have to drop but remain in.
So.. when Tech beats BYU they are eliminated & I think the seeds will go as follows.
1) Ohio St (beats Indiana)
2) Georgia (beats Bama)
3) Texas Tech (beats BYU)
4) Indiana
5) Texas A&M
6) Oregon
7) Oklahoma
8) Ole Miss
9) Bama
10) Notre Dame
11) Virginia
12) Tulane
But again.. I think the committee wants Bama & ND in so they could be interchangeable.. so if Bama loses to Georgia we could be 9 and safe from a BYU win.
Either way it shakes out with a BYU loss I think we end up in Norman which I love.. Freeman is ready to run the table & that Oklahoma offense would be in for a long night.
I bet you think the earth is flat, too.Bama is not getting left out. The argument is a non starter.
UGA was the best win by far, but Vandy and Tenn were solid wins if we are just being honest. I would compare the the Tenn win to our Pitt or USCAlabama is lucky that Kirby Smart turns into a Pop Warner coach when going against them.
That win against Georgia is doing all of the heavy lifting for Bama's case. And, it will be the only reason they get in even if Georgia destroys them on Saturday.
I will give them credit for Vandy and compare it with USC.UGA was the best win by far, but Vandy and Tenn were solid wins if we are just being honest. I would compare the the Tenn win to our Pitt or USC
I was on the fence about them....But I'd go as far as saying Tennessee has the same record as us with our schedule....It just wouldn't be as pretty.I will give them credit for Vandy and compare it with USC.
I think Tennessee is a total fraud.
Just calling out that the committee choosing to fault Oklahoma for their miserable performance against LSU and rank:
8 Notre Dame
9 Alabama
10 Oklahoma
would not only assure both ND/Bama, but it would give the committee more buffer by keeping space between ND/Miami providing another example (Alabama/Oklahoma) where H2H was considered but not the only thing considered.
It’d be nice, but I wouldn’t expect this.
Vandy created a resume 😂

Big fans! I'll be catching up on watching S2 Landman and the kids and I will be throwing tortillas. So in short, we are big TTU fans on Saturday?
I think this would actually be really explainable by the committee. Bama made the CCG and Oklahoma didn't, so we are rewarding that by slotting them above Oklahoma for now regardless of head to head. If Bama loses to UGA, then Oklahoma can go above them again perhaps. It would also set up matchups that wouldn't be rematches (ND vs. OU and Bama vs. Ole Miss)Just calling out that the committee choosing to fault Oklahoma for their miserable performance against LSU and rank:
