I really think the CFP is going to say we are one of the best teams in the country and you can’t leave us out if you are trying to decide a champion.

We will be ranked ahead of Oklahoma and Bama this week. Ensures we are in, as we should be.
I'm cautiously optimistic this will happen. If we're ranked ahead of Oklahoma, we can rest easy. Bama controls its own destiny so it doesn't really matter where they're ranked on Tuesday

What's funny is that if Duke wins the ACCCG then the ACC gets ZERO teams in
I think Duke would get in over JMU.
Duke would have win over approx. #15 Virginia, and if that happened they would move up in power rating metrics close enough to JMU to jump them.
Also, Chesney looks like he is leaving for UCLA…which would be a big negative for JMU.

Committee already said on Kiffin subject they would factor in a coach leaving on final rankings.

It would certainly be a fair debate, I just feel like they would just make the “easier” choice and keep the Power five conference champion in the field over a second G5 champ who possibly may not even have their coaching staff.

It's about to get gross

An 8-5 team cannot make the playoffs.

SMU losing is a much bigger deal than we may seem.

Miami's 2 losses are now to two teams who will be unranked and aren't playing in the ACCCG.
Yep. 100% agree.
You could argue it’s a more significant result than even their Pitt win today for their CFP chances.

Going to be very hard to get in as an at large with two unranked losses on your resume coming from the worse of the power four conferences.

Can understand why their fanduel odds are so against them right now.

Nobody is gonna stay up and watch this game.

They will only look at the final score.

It has to be a bloodbath

I KNOW Freeman understands that

That's the move. If Miami's on the outside looking in come Tuesday, put them in the conference championship game. Just do it. Who cares? They are by far the ACC's best chance of making noise in the playoffs. Duke's a basketball school anyway and no one will be too bent about being left out.

I’m with you. What’s Duke going to do about it? Lol

Someone -maybe Lax- posted that the ACC deliberately designed their conference schedule to create confusion and get multiple teams in. If that's their goal, they wouldn't swap Duke for Miami.

Can you blame them? They had a 13-0 conference champion shut out of the CFP.

I’m also afraid the ACC will start bringing that up and doing performative saber rattling to the committee when it comes down to ND and Miami.

Yeah, but that was with a four team playoff. That wouldn't happen now.

I think this is the Committee’s one escape hatch and they would be stupid not to take it after the putrid performances by Bama and Oklahoma. If they don’t take it, it says a lot about the process.

With like 1/2 of their roster playing, the rest checked out.

No, that FSU team wasn’t a serious contender even with their QB.

Yes, losing the QB should have been taken into consideration, as it was.

Yes, the ACC still had every right to go ballistic about it.
