Keon Keeley is less productive than Elijah Hughes, would rather save the roster spot.

Was trying to go back through the On3 portal rankings and compare to actual productivity this year. Didn't realize PFF rankings are all behind a paywall. One that stood out was Travis Shaw, guy everyone wanted as a high potential guy. He has 7 combined tackles for Texas in 8 games. Only name that really jumped out was Bear Alexander, who has played well but is also a headcase.

Impact DTs are simply hard to come by.

its been said hes an outside not inside guy. He has weight for DT but the build is more Tuitt like
Moving inside seems like the easy move, but the potential if he is able to stay outside is too big to not try first.

Unfortunately, the realities of our roster might mean moving him inside if we can't get some guys to step up or add some guys in the offseason.

Keeley made the final tackle in the South Carolina game. First time in my life I heard his name outside of IE. Don't want!

Irish Illustrated guys made it seem like Aneyas Williams and Gi'Bran Payne are almost certainly hitting the transfer portal, meaning we'll likely have to grab a RB or two from the portal. I'd expect:

Leaving
Draft: Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price
Transferring: Aneyas Williams and Gi’Bran Payne

Remaining roster
Returning: Nolan James and Kedren Young (pls)
Freshmen: Javian Osborne and Jonas Walton

Williams transferring makes no sense to me. He was injured start of season and Love/Price keep blowing up. Both leave, he's quite possibly the man next year, or at least seeing significant pt. If they do take a transfer, hopefully it doesn't put off Osborne or Walton...hate to lose out on the future for a 1 year rental

If Drink takes a new job first call is to Hardy. Need DT, WR, ATH(PR/KR), K(Go after Pitts)

He had a sack in that game
That is the one tackle to end the game I was talking about. And keep in mind, it was the last play of the game from the 15 yard line. So Sellers was a sitting duck waiting for his WR to get 85 yards down the field...LOL

Awesome any rumors on WR guys? Nick Marsh would be target 1, ideally depending on what happens with Greathouse might need to grab a second guy.
Not specific WR's, but IIRC they mentioned the RB, Smothers. Brice also mentioned that Pitt has some nice Defensive Lineman and said it in a way that sounds like he has some inside info. He didn't mention any names, specifically, but he's almost certainly talking about their DT's. Pitt has 2 DT's, Nick James and Sean FitzSimmons, who are both redshirt juniors and have both been named to at least 1 weekly All-ACC PFF team. My guess is Nick James. Prister said they need to bring in at least 2 DT's.

Last year they mentioned that Admissions would be more lenient with taking undergrad transfers who aren't just true freshman from ACC and Big Ten schools, and they ended up bringing in Hughes from a Big Ten school (USC). I'd be very surprised if they didn't do their due-diligence on Marsh. If there is a realistic chance they can get him through Admissions, I have no doubt they'll do everything possible to entice him to hit the portal.

He'd be ND's best WR in a long time, but he was adamant about committing to MSU as a university. Told Tucker he was committed to MSU, told a coachless MSU he was all in for MSU, told Smith he was all in for MSU. I'm aware of no desire on his part to leave.

Also, I believe Marsh is a good kid, good grades type, but the two primary windows for transferring to ND are during/after freshman (academic) year or upon graduation. Otherwise, transferring credits tends to be a problem in ND's eyes.

I don't think Admissions is as lenient as they mentioned last year, given the fact that Hughes is the only one they could find and other sports like basketball have had a harder time these past two years. Also seems to make sense the speculation out there that Freeman's pushing for maybe something more clear from ND to let him take a certain number of guys he wants, no questions asked.

I found the pod that was mentioned on, and it said that they had a talk about it. No changes in policy.

With the new unlimited transfers, I feel like admissions should be way more lenient. Guys only have to be here two semesters. That means you only need to keep them eligible for one, really. And that assumes we can't just take the riskiest guys in the summer after letting them finish the spring at their old school.

Riley Leonard’s credits didn’t all transfer and he took Theater. Don’t think he got his degree.

On Hit & Hustle last week Greg & Jamie had to catch themselves from revealing too much but reading between the lines, they are expecting ND to take a big transfer RB in the offseason which will probably prompt the upperclassmen to transfer.

Nick Singleton would be my guess, this season may have hurt his draft stock, was heavily thought to be an ND silent until Loy did his thing and gave PSU a chance to win him back, and the position coach he committed to is now with ND

I gurantee it’s not Singleton 1. He doesn’t have any years left and 2 he stinks.

I’m pretty confident that ND’s Admission policies for incoming athletes has more to do with feeling a moral obligation to ensure they get a diploma within 4 years.

Of course they want to keep athletes eligible, but more importantly, they want to make sure they graduate.

I see no scenario where they would ever take a transfer who was a crapshoot to stay eligible for both semesters, just because football is basically played in one.
