Boren states...
"I have great trouble accepting that those family values have eroded in just a few months. " ... That I am unable to perform under these circumstances at the level I expect of myself, and my teammates and Michigan fans deserve, is why I have made the decision to leave."

Looks like Rodriguez's approach to coaching isn't what Michigan players are used to. I think this may be the start of a few disgruntled players who are not happy about the attitude change around Spring Practices. Every coach has his own style, and Rodriguez has obviously had much success with his coaching style. However, many players liked Lloyd for his laid back style and division of responsibilities to the players.

Also a tidbit of information. To my knowledge, this leaves only 1 starting offensive lineman from last year on the team for '08. looks like our Defense is going to get an opportunistic chance to prove themselves early against a nationally recognized Michigan team.

I hope Dickrod runs the program right into the ground! I used to at least respect scUM for running a mostly clean program. I feel safe in saying that won't be the case under Rodriguez.

He won't run the program into the ground. Get all the whiners out, he'll have a NC contending team in less than 3 years. As much as I hate to say it.

ESPN radio-columbus was discussing this yesterday and Justin certainly left a little too loudly in this case.

I'm sure he, like others, are upset about the changes taking place. He's given years to the program, only to have it changed toward the end of his career there. It's a tough situation, and I wouldn't be happy either.

I think so too. But the first year or two for him are going to be hell.

Rodriguez says his players and coaches are like his family? Until when? And he apparently doesn't think much of "family".

He jumped ship at WV right after the first year of his new big contract, saying he was there for the long haul and he loved the school and his team. He also left them just before a bowl game and shredded the player files before leaving.

What do you want to bet that the press doesn't call him on his complete hypocrisy though?

I agree that this is not THAT big of a deal in the long term for scUM. Every team has their defections or quitters when a coaching change rolls around, particularly when you go from Hawaiian-Shirt Fridays to a Harvey from Celebrity Fit Club kind of style. It's a change we are all familiar with.

What bugs me about this kid who speaks to the 'family' atmosphere is the fact that he would be considering a move to Ohio State. If he had any concern for the value of family and loyalty, he would choose ANY other school (besides ND of course) to pursue his football career at. It's a slap in the face and a testament to his immaturity.

C'est la vie. Couldn't have happened to a nicer Rod.

that blog makes it sound like his dad is a very controlling personality. It also says Justin's younger brother is considering The University of Ohio State (that's what Pryor called it ). So this move may also have something to do with having both Boren boys at the same school.
