Love that Dodgers won but hate it for the Phillies pitcher. That game was a pitching duel by both staffs. That’s the best I’ve seen Glasnow pitch in a Dodgers uniform. So I‘m glad I was wrong about him but I was correct on Sanchez. He’s the best starter in NL not named Skenes. Change up is filthy.

All that PFP pitchers do & both teams had a pitcher w/ a fielding error that cost their team a run. One just happened to be the run that won the game. Timing is everything.

Pitchers haven’t had PFP since April. Pitchers aren’t athletes either.

Making them make plays is typically a good thing. Unless it’s Tim Hudson or Mike Hampton.

That pitcher is the only Phillie I've ever felt bad for in my entire life. He messed up, sure, but that loss and the series loss is not on him. Maybe that arrogant prick that wears 3 could have had more than what, one hit? Their three "core" players went 10 for 48 in the series or something like that. The schadenfreude, unfortunately, is immense.

That goes for both teams. I mean credit the pitching staffs of both squads but considering the $ those dudes are getting paid & the lack of output is ridiculous. Sooner or later, teams will find a hitter’s Achilles heel. Looks like they found Ohtani’s this series. He couldn’t hit sand if he fell off a camel.

Ohtani always struggles against lefties with a lower arm slot from what I recall. I also believe he's struggled against the Phillies when they've played even in the regular season but I could be mistaken.

I love this time of year. The sample size gets smaller, the fishbowl and spotlight get bigger right along with the angst.

I'm off work on Monday. Hey, look, so are the Yankees.
You could see how big the moment was for the Phils’ closer, Duran. He was clearly amped up w/ adrenaline & then had to process the enormity of bases loaded in an elimination game. Uncharacteristically throwing pitches way out of the zone & walks in the winning run. Seemed to settle in to limit the damage but all it took was one run.

The Phillies dominated the Dodgers in the regular season. A lot of that was the Dodgers bullpen imploding & blowing leads. Ohtani was 5 for 23 w/ two HR during regular season.

Woke up just in time for an amazing Game 5 12th between DET and SEA. Things not looking good for DET in the 13th, but SEA fans chanting Seven Nation Army is hilarious to me. The White Stripes are not only a DET band, but they are huge Tigers fans.

EDIT: Double play ball! On to the 14th!

Jack Flaherty stepped up big time. Wow. Runners on 1st & 2nd & he strikes out Polanco before inducing Suarez into the inning ending DP.

It appears that when these postseason games go to extras that every hitter is trying to go bridge. No manufacturing runs…just trying to hit a bomb. That’s why they go so deep IMO.

Thanks for two fun seasons, Tigers. Now, let's sign some pitching and promote some hitting. Baez is the only Tiger who makes enough money to ride the bus.

To be fair, Detroit played Nirvana the last game in the motor city to amp up their crowd.

Seattle has never played in a WS & the Brewers have never played in one as a NL team. They lost to the Cardinals in ‘82 as the AL representative.
Oh, wow. I forgot that epic 2001 Seattle team that went 116-46 failed to make the WS.

I’m looking now…

…Peralta was 17-6 this year which is impressive but his ERA is up….2.7 clip compared to postseason he’s been 4.66.

Yoma (sp?) is still dealing at a 2.5 ERA both in and postseason (brutal bullpen) yet his W/L record is only 12-8 and 1-1 in the postseason.

Like I said, we’ll see. The under looks good (has all postseason). The ML however, is literally a coin flip

Dodgers have won 16 of their last 20 postseason games. Impressive stat.

Helps not facing Boston. 😘

Ohtani can’t stay back right now.

Get your balance, stay closed, and trust your hands…big guy. Easier said than done.
