“They plan to come out for spring, and my understanding is that it will be both coach Guidugli and coach Denbrock. And then, I plan to get back on campus, either in the summer or the fall, depending on how things play out.”

Sounds like want to do in person evals this spring for 2027 QBs to extend offers

I wonder if the deliberately slow to offer strategy involving '27 qbs is partially due to learning a lesson and taking a guy(s) before it was 100% clear what how he was going to develop?

Him and Peyton Houston live like 10 miles apart. They live up in Jerry Tillery country = Shreveport which is better than living in the populated areas around NOLA-Baton Rouge.

Gut feeling backed up by zero facts... and taking Gunner Rivers out of the equation cuz no one knows nothing about what's going on with Team Rivers:

They like Ziegler the most and can slow play the situation cuz they know they have Bourque wrapped up. Not to mention, if they pivot hard to Trae Taylor on Jameson Purcell, they would be the instant favorites. Rivals have them as #11 and #88 Overall respectively.

Hope we don't end up with Freeman's Buchner vs McCathy.

Not saying he'll end up at ND, but Ziegler seems like way more of a fit on the surface.
His comments from the ISD freebie seem to indicate a much better fit:
“Coach Gino was telling us, 'When you leave, there'll be a feeling in your chest about how it felt,'” Zeigler recalled. “He said, 'You'll either love it, you'll hate it, or you'll feel indifferent. But there'll be a feeling.' He said, 'Don't ignore that feeling.'”

Zeigler did not ignore it.

“There is definitely a feeling,” the Benton, La., quarterback acknowledged. “There is definitely a feeling. I really enjoyed it. It's a good feeling."

He needs to refine that pitch. Ditch the indifference. Sell Love or hate. because there is no indifference towards ND. "When you leave here you'll either love this place and everything that makes it completely different from ALL other program or you'll know you need to aim lower ND is NOT a fit for you. The only thing I know is you won't leave here feeling indifferent."

Watched a few interviews and read some more on him and you’re absolutely right, much more of a fit. Well spoken, humble kid.

From an interview with an Arkansas site in the fall:

"My oldest brother is in the Louisiana National Guard and in college at Louisiana Tech," he said. "My middle brother is about start EMT school in January. When he finishes he will go through the fire academy. My mom is a teacher and my dad is a truck driver. They have never missed anything that we've ever done."

He has a 4.0 GPA while taking Advanced Placement classes.“

This sounds like a kid from a family that no matter where he goes he's going to do well.

Slam dunk in terms of the characteristics we'd all be looking for and desire in a recruit.

I don’t know squat about the ‘27 class besides I want Gunner just because but next on my uniformed wish list would be Zig.

Pretty nuts we don’t have a single QB offer out yet and it’s almost summer. I’m sure the staff has a plan, but I mean we’re getting relatively deep in the cycle here. Big time QBs operate on an accelerated timeline.

My curiosity will be if they offer Bourque, Croucher and Ziegler and one of Croucher or Bourque want in, do you wait and let it play out or just take them? Feel like 27 needs to be an elite elite level guy. Some of the beat's souring opinion of Grubbs makes me cautious.

I’m getting a weird vibe about Grubbs. I’m about to give up and go after that superstar two sport guy at Moeller.
