If only 1% of people know who he is that's a totally different problem. We're talking about a pivotal moment in our country's history that people on this board are old enough to have lived thru and remember. It's also when we saw both parties political identity get swapped. No matter what the likes of Bishop say. It's a very important moment in history that we should all know about
Just wondering, before this did you know who gave the longest speech in history on the Senate floor?

Just to expand upon my answer, I'm 37 and went to a decent public school in Northern Illinois. My wife was born in South Carolina and graduated high school from Missouri. One of the things I realized when we met and talked up about high school education experience was drastically different, especially around subjects live the Civil War and civil rights.

Make your pick.

It is possible that Booker gave this speech because:

A. Felt it was important to rail against Trump and his policies.

B. Wanted to dethrone Storm Thurmond for longest speech because it greatly troubled him.

C. Wanted to grandstand and draw attention to himself as the Dem’s have a leadership void and this could elevate his profile for a potential presidential run.

Probably C. But whatever

I was five. OMM was probably 11 or 12. There's no one on IE who remembers Thurmond giving that speech in '57.

Once had a family inquiring if they could bury mom in the ground on their property in town. Surprisingly, our community had not made it illegal nor had state statute.

Not surprising, was the year or two later when the same family charged with defrauding the state for social security. I’m like most people, don’t like paying taxes, but I think less of those that overtly cheat the system. I didn’t go to Michigan after all.

Crockett is a racist and has made a lot of idiotic statements, which is why the Tweet was so funny.
It might be funny to you, but you posting it with no context comes across as you believing the contents of tweet. I've never seen anything from her to make me believe she's racist.

Do a little research. It's not hard to find.
