Surprised no one is spearheading a campaign to bring the transfer portal to sane levels. Guess the administrators don’t care.

I really think it’s Milroe. Denbrock has coached against him. Buchner was also his teammate. Rees his coach. Fits the offense. Cache to convince transfer WRs no matter how poor he is at times. Would warrant top $ type billing. Also a one year rental so may be approved by Carr.

Every other realistic name seems hardly an upgrade or a fit (besides Ewers as mentioned).

Why would anyone want to coach college football?

At least in the NFL for 90% of the time you know your roster.
If you're on the coaching staff of a college team and you don't know your roster you shouldn't be allowed to coach.

I can get the lower levels being demolished, but not only should Notre Dame know their roster. They should control it like an NFL GM with a carte blanche to pick and choose players as they see fit.

A few of my thoughts about Milroe:

-If Milroe is looking, it would seem to me that it’s because Alabama wants to move on. How many teams would be considered an upgrade over Bama or offer him that much more money than them?
-While I’m not overly impressed with him as a QB, I think he a dynamic player that could play a role similar to Leonard for us. I think we would have to expect a couple of dud performances out of him over the course of the season.
-Lastly, and most importantly to me, if we’re wanting to pay Milroe $4M I doubt Carr/Minchey are sticking it out. I would give the coaches the benefit of the doubt on that decision, but it felt like this was our best chance of having an internal candidate step up as a starter that could lead us to success.

Agreed.

But I don't believe Ewers is an upgrade or a fit based on production, style of play or disposition.

If we are paying 4 million I want DT’s and Wr’s.

I think there is a strong chance we play Milroe in Miami next year

The way it makes sense to take a QB is if you think Carr is the guy but you can’t bet on him yet because of his health cutting into prep time.

You would also need Carr to be OK with this move.

Milroe isn't a good NFL prospect, but with how the NFL is ruined that doesn't mean he won't go in the first round.

Milroe would be a great fit for our offense. Is he more inaccurate than Riley was to start the year? I trust in Denbrook if he wants him.

The power run game would be unstoppable with our projected 2025 o-line and stable of NFL projected backs.

$4 alone as a number means nothing. Is that $4 out of $20? $30?

Expect the starting QB to be a decent percentage of the roster. What did Leonard and Hartman make compared to total budget?

The follows go back to when he was being recruited out of high school.

That's every profession though. If Coaches are that butthurt about movement of employees they should try working in any other industry.
I dunno what industry you work in but most professional companies that employ any sort of skilled workers could never sustain turning over one-third to half their workforce every year. It's insane.
