Nah he sucks. He is a cheerleader, not a coach.
That booing....cant imagine hearing that. The team and the coaches deserve it. They should be ashamed of their efforts. Top to bottom. When you cant run the ball, thats on the OL. 100% of the team they played today would have never even been considered to be offered by ND. When you are a 4 star WR competing against a 2 star DB and you cant get seperation....
Whole team is balls.
But they could run the ball. The RBs we’re doing the job.

If the run was doing the job, why no score? Wisconsin made a living on running the ball 90% of the time with their power run. You can win running the ball if you have dominating players. Problem is, ND doesnt. Not even against a MAC team with 2 stars. And it showed.

I wish the band would shut the fuck up. They don't deserve it.
How do you figure? You have a lot of guys getting paid a lot of money to compete. Only they didnt compete. Against 2 star players. Lets get real...this was a flop, across the board, coaches and players.

Seriously, who on NDs schedule is worse than NIU? One team.
ND football program top to bottom should be ashamed.

I hate checking this board after a loss. Of course I hate losing as much as anyone but all the worms come out after a loss. Football is suppose to be an enjoyable hobby not misery fest. I'll check back on the boards after we be the shit out of purdue or maybe after we finally ditch the Deuce. There is more to life then this.

I agree. This is why I quit watching the games. I came back this year thinking maybe, just maybe but heck no. More of the same Irish garbage play against craptastic teams.

We ain't beating the shit out of anybody.

The only thing our Snuggle Teddy Bear program is beating is maybe the Pillsbury Dough Boy.

I'll be brutally honest, evaluating just his coaching abilities, I get a lot of Ed Orgeron + Wally Cleaver vibes from Freeman.

The whole "CEO" model (i.e., I recruit well and depend heavily on my coordinators and assistants) doesn't always work. A team needs a leader and a coach who isn't just a cheerleader "rah-rah" guy.

His coaching abilities can be highly questionable and the turbulent results speak for themselves. Notre Dame is so inconsistent and that falls strictly on him.

But he doesn’t even recruit that well

Think that’s a bad move IMO because Vegas knows how this goes. Public overreacted to NDs win last week, they’ll overrreact to this loss. Freeman’s gonna right the ship, look dominant at times, and get them 5-1 or 6-1 before another clunker against an inferior opponent.
The what??? This guy cant coach a middle school team. No way ND does anything with the current QB

Huh? I feel like we're agreeing.

Every player across the board deserved to leave the field to the sound of nothing but booing.

Revisit this in a few weeks. I guarantee you ND will be 5-1 or 6-1. Seat will start to cool. Then another clunker. Idk why you take my post as a defense of him. ND SHOULD take care of business against these teams regardless who is playing QB.

No way ND wins the next 4-5 games. Louisville will rip a major size hole.

This has been his issue through two years and change... gets the team "up" for big games, and then shits the bed against massively inferior opponents far too often. My gut is that it comes from preparation and not respecting the opponent. All three of those bad losses listed above had the common denominator of the offense playing "too cute" for the bulk of the game and then when it gets to crunch time "oh shit we might actually lose" they have a game ending turnover when there isn't enough time left / no room for error:
-Marshall interception
-Stanford Estime fumble
-NIU interception

It's not "Fire Freeman" yet but he needs to basically go minimum 9-1 the rest of way + pray they get in the playoffs. Short of that, he is on the hot seat year 4.

Media needs to pound Freeman. I mean, pound him. Dude should be ashamed to show his face anywhere. But they wont because he is so likeable. What he did to the program today doesnt deserve him getting the benefit of anything.

The biggest thing Freeman can do now is make the proper personnel decisions going into next week. That would be a step in the right direction.

Freeman isn’t just in his third year as a HC at ND, he’s a third year HC. I’m not sure what is so hard about getting the team focused enough to take care of the next team on the schedule, but it’s glaringly apparent he needs to find that switch to flip. He’s too much calibrated like one of the kids he coaches right now. It’s easy to be hype for aTm on the road and jumping around in the tunnel, but you have to keep that SAME energy then against NIU. Teams generally follow their leader.

He’s still super inexperienced compared to a lot of P4 head coaches, but he has to feel like (at this point) that his seat is warming.

How the rest of the season plays out probably seals his fate.

Should never been giving the reins. Jack seriously screwed the pooch. Thx Jack.
