Just a little heads up, we don't list them as having official offers on IE unless it can be confirmed through at least two sites, or other definate knowledge. For instance Kenny Tate made mention that he had a ND offer and Rivals listed him as having one for sometime but he never actually ever recieved one.

Fair enough. I think that only Scout has him with an offer right now. Neither Rivals nor BGI do at this point.

You sure he is SC bound already Gip? He has a great GPA and he seems to be open to me. I heard SC and UCLA weren't recruiting him as hard as others but it still will be a hard pull out of Cali once they step up their efforts...

lotta time between now and then. i think once the bruins get their feet underneath them and sc gets through signing day they'll be involved along with a laundry list of others.

No, that's not what I said. I basically said that a lot of people are indicating that they are a heavy favorite or that's where he'll end up. Not that he's one already.

Evans could be top WR in the West
By Greg Biggins, Recruiting Analyst
15 hours, 2 minutes ago

It’s looking like a very deep and talented year for wide receivers in the Golden State this coming year. One player who could be the best of the crop is Inglewood’s (Calif.) Shaquelle Evans, who continues to rack up the offers by the day.

...

“My top five right now would be USC, UCLA, LSU, Oregon and Cal,” Evans said. “It’s early though and I’m still open to everyone recruiting me. I’m not planning to make an early decision. I want to go through the process and take my visits.

Wow, no love for ND on that list- and I wonder if LSU can beat the West coast list for him. Glad we got who we got this year. Evans looks like a lot harder work to turn Irish.

At wide receiver, Shaquelle Evans led the way. The Inglewood standout is well-built, strong but also athletic enough to beat defensive backs down the field. Anything that comes close, Evans will catch it. He attended UCLA’s junior day on Saturday and said the Bruins, USC, California, Colorado and Notre Dame are recruiting him the hardest. Kenneth Scott, a 2010 prospect from Ontario Colony, also had a strong performance.

I don't know, but my guess is he's more of a west coast lean. guessing as of now, he seems UCLA bound.

Thats the way I see it as well but it's still early and ND could have a decent chance for all we know but if I had to guess I would say UCLA as of now.

USC seems to be losing the top CALi talent lately (excluding barkley). What's up with them

I wouldn't say that they are losing the top talent as much as there is so much talent there that they can't lock everyone down. We've obviously picked our battles well recently. This on the other hand is one we lose to UCLA more than likely.

What?!? lay down the crack pipe because if you go by the rankings according to Rivals there are six 5 star prospects and five out of the six have already made commitments Wood to ND and the other four are USC commits. The only one left is Shaq Evans and while it may seem that he's a UCLA lean it's far from a given and could easily end up Irish or USC.

Evans recently set his travel plans for an official visit to ND. He will travel to SB on Sept 13 for the Michigan game weekend.

While he has said he may take officials to Michigan, Ohio State, LSU and Tennessee, he has not yet set any dates for those visits.

He remains interested in USC, UCLA and other west coast schools. The fact he is not taking official vists there is because of his close proximity to those campuses.

I like the fact the we are his first official visit, he obviously has legit interest in ND. He seems like a smart kid who actually values a good education. He would be the perfect fit with our tall receivers. He has big-time talent.
