Wonder how many more UW players ( I know Rogers hadn’t played at UW yet) will follow DeBoer to Bama.

Their roster is pretty thin now with nfl and graduations etc there isn’t that much left to pick over I think they’ll only return two starters next year a guard and a corner

TCU was a 5-7 natty runner up this year. UW gonna be pushing for that.

Nice OT option

It looks like that was a typo. Apparently he has only played OG while at Washington.

Along those lines, when Harbie gone, I wonder if there will be some good MI OTs interested in transferring?

And again, as we've seen from JMU to Indiana, and now WA to AL, if Fisch goes to WA, should be a similar AZ to WA exodus of coaching talent (and maybe some players? And AZ has some O talent for sure!), wondering if there are any good AZ OTs we can poach in addition to going after McMillan?

The only drawback with AZ and coach going to WA, is I'll bet players are more West Coast oriented and some may even follow Fisch and team, but let's see what we can do.

In principal, I agree with players being able to transfer immediately once their HC leaves, but the way it decimates a program feels dirty. Arizona could have made the playoff next year with a Big 12 schedule.

One day this will eventually severely bite ND. Maybe not as severe as many other Universities because our recruits value (in theory) the ND degree.

Let's say MF leaves for another opportunity at some point and 20 guys leave via the portal. The most likely way that ND handles it is the take a crap load of grad transfers which solves the problem temporarily, until the following year when we are still plugging a majority of those holes with I guess more grad transfers. Doesn't sound like a realistic way to rebuild the program with a new coach.

The ND administration will likely have to change their transfer policy allowing us to realistically take more sophomores and juniors in the future or our program will be set back years.

Yeah, JMU best team ever and then just decimated but if you believe it was the HC (Cignetti for JMU) and Fisch for AZ, I guess it's their prerogative to take the success, culture and coaches and players (basically the entire kit and kaboodle) to the new step, but yeah sucks for the carnage left behind at the old team.

I’ve thought about this a lot. Marcus leaving and being replaced by an outside candidate is going to absolutely nuke the program.

Now, another way to look at this - but man, what an uphill climb - is that a new coach can come in and absolutely shape and build the new team and culture and there's no way peeps can say BK walked into a loaded LSU, etc. -- Success can be 100% claimed by the new HC if they do in fact have success - An up and coming coach can really launch their career / make a name for themselves in one of these stops for sure. From that lens, they are excellent opportunities for a coach with the right mindset.

Depending on what school it is and timing (after portal closed), the porty will not always be a sure thing. And as we see with USC and CO, you live by the porty, you die by the porty. Ironically, recruiting and development I believe will reassert their importance to building, especially when rebuilding a program from scratch. And hopefully, this leads to more patience for new coaches in these situations
