Whether he’s the right guy or not. It is painful to see other programs at least shoot their shot while we’re still holding the rock getting a 5 second call.
I think there needs to be a sign up in every office and in every hall way (like the play like a champion sign) saying "go get the best guy".
I legit reckon ND forgets that because of this "right fit" message that is said all around the place.

To much of a reach as a replacement?
Reach to the point of not being a good hire.

He was a Pittsburg State for a very long time (played there too), where as head coach he took a powerful Division II program and made it not. To be fair, he won a championship early in his tenure and took over for a legend in Chuck Broyles.

Did not coach in 2020, did a year as an analyst for TCU and now he was NMU OC for one year. He turns 60 next month and has never coached Power Five Football.

"In reality I always knew TCU was a great fit, but I was eager to get out to a South Bend to see if I could change the precedent of the wideout room there and be something that University has never had before," he said. "The changing of our strength coach and OC hindered my development and I wasn’t able to grow at the rate I needed to."

I suppose a possible interpretation of that quote is that he thought the lack of continuity (changing) of coaching at those positions hindered his development, not necessarily who was hired. But, we all know that he probably means "Fuck Parker.'
