Anybody follow the English Premier League?

I was just wondering. I started following it last year after my roomates were avid fans. I thought soccer was boring at first but since I have grown an appreciation for the sport and the talent over there. They have a lot of the best players in the world. It doesn't even compare to the dismal talent in the U.S. My team is Portsmouth!!

yeah i follow it, im a man u fan... just grew up seeing them the most, and i hate chelsea. It seems to be a pretty good season so far.

Used to before my soccer playing son left for college. I always thought that if people would just watch the game more at that level they would get just as hooked on it as other American sports.
His favorite team is Arsenal. His former club coach is now the south american scout for Chelsea so that team is followed also.

I have never paid any attention to hockey and think it looks boring. Now, how true it that? Its not boring, I just havn't followed it.

Me 2. I thought soccer was just plain boring until I learned the game and how hard the players work. Especially in the EPL, the have so much talent it is insane. I hate Chelsea and Frank Lampard! Portsmouth are fun 2 watch, they beat Reading 7-4 this year, one of the best games I've ever seen!

i follow the English Premiere Leauge, but my favorite team is not in the epl. I'm going to have to go with Ac Milan!!!! I didn't really like soccer until i started hanging out with soccer players and now, that's all we pretty much do is watch it. It's amazing how intense it gets and how much joy you can get out of it.

Yeah, ive been sick of frank lampard for 5 years now. He shoots too much and cant hit the broad side of a barn with his shot. He rarely scores and when he does, most of the time it comes off of a rebound and he just has to hit an open net from 10 yards out.

Soccer and Hockey are such exciting sports.... a lack of scoring makes it MORE EXCITING people.... unless you have adhd I suppose... tat's why basketball is so boring to me... it should matter when a team scores...

My thoughts exactly. Most overrated soccer player in the world. Anyways, for those who say they can't watch it, I have FSC. I have Dish network and I think the channel comes with the package. I am paying 15 dollars more a month for Setanta sports which also shows many soccer games from around the world. I hope this helps. I also agreed with the above poster about scoring that actually matters. I go crazy when my Porties score cuz it happens only once or twice a game, if that. I also cannot watch basketball anymore unless I go to the game.

I just discovered last night that if you have a DVR and record the game , watching it at double speed makes it seem a lot more action packed. The game is played so slow that you don't really miss anything speeding it up. When a goal is scored, just rewind and watch it at regular speed. I do enjoy watching the EPL, but it gets a little boring at times. I'm not a nihilistic European, so I can't fully embrace it.

he definitely was a great forward...and it is sad to see him play like he is now - hes just not around the right players...Newcastles just corrupt now. Redknapp might be the new manager

Yea you guys made a huge offer to Portsmouths manager. For Portsmouth sake, I hope he says no but 20 mill is a lot of money. He is one of the better managers out there and has great relationships with his players. I have we can take care of the lowly Sunderland on Sunday!

haha the only reason i knew that was because i cringed everytime cristiano ronaldo got the ball...probably the worst outing ive seen for newcastle all year, and thats saying a lot. i feel so bad for shay given their goalie...one of the best in my opinion and he has to put up with no forwards (Owen doesnt do anything), Martins was gone in Africa, and he also has no defense. nicky butt is way past it. comeon, bring back shearer! (not as manager tho, hes a better forward currently then owen is)

Hah. Its all good. I'm sorry about the loss. Man U is a great team. You guys will turn it around. If it makes you feel any better my team just lost 2 Sunderland. I knew we'd have a rough time without are key players due to the African Cup! Oh well.
