I wouldn't call it quite official. Here is the direct quote:

"I believe he is going to transfer," he said. "He has not told me specifically, but he's told other folks in the program, and I talked to him before the bowl game and I talked to him once after and gave him our spiel. But again, if he chooses to leave, he can make a choice he thinks is best for him and we'll be okay.

notredomer: wouldn't mallett transferring increase the likelihood of pryor going to UM?

That would be great if he did indeed go to Ohio State

GG-
You slay me- As you can see- I am a newbee, but I think I "get it". I love this forum. It is great when people can joke around and not take themselves too seriously- that is what work is for! Hope ZO comes back lighter in the mood.

I hope he does go to someone ND has to play. So when ND wins we can all chuckle and say, "Pffft, who dat?"

That I would love to see, just to piss off scUM! Wow, that would just about put most scUM fans over the edge to lose him to a hated rival!!

U-M's Rodriguez confirms Manningham, Arrington, Mallett no longer are on team

Newly hired Michigan football coach Rich Rodriguez confirmed Tuesday night that receivers Mario Manningham and Adrian Arrington and quarterback Ryan Mallett are no longer with the team.

Rodriguez confirmed the news in an impromptu briefing with the media at halftime of the men's basketball game against Indiana. Rodriguez also said his staff is nearly complete, but he needs to add a defensive coordinator and give some assistants specific roles with the team by this weekend.

In regard to Manningham and Arrington, Rodriguez said both players didn't attend a team meeting Monday, so he expects both to test the NFL waters. Mallett also didn't attend the meeting.

...

As for Mallett, Rodriguez declined to give many details. But when pressed on the freshman's status, he replied: "I don't care. He's not playing for Michigan. I'm concerned with who's playing for Michigan."

Another rumored destination for Mallet is Tennessee. His former offensive coordinator and former qb coach are both interviewing for the open OC position. Most of the rumors of where Mallet transferring to have a direct connection to where his former qb coach may end up

My gut tells me he will follow them.

I was hoping to see Mallet go to UCLA and actually develop into a decent QB...then he could torment USC AND scUM (should UCLA ever get to a Rose Bowl against the Skunkbears that it is) for us and I would feel really good about rooting for 'Lurch'....

yes but i have heard he (Pryor) has been a silent to ohio state for the past 3 months.

Like that means anything these days. :jerkit:

Ayway, UM was running a different offense 3 months ago than the one they'll run next year. I think he deals OSU another huge defeat, to UM no less.

Mallet could easily read the writing on the wall ... Dick Rod wants a running QB. Can you say .... Pryor, come on down! Dick Rod will be sucking him until NSD, that's for sure!

IrishRamMan10: I called it in the initial thread where this was talked about. So you and I would have been sitting pretty about now.
