No, but a drunk driver also doesn't write out a hit list before his first beer either. We're talking about an athlete fully swinging his skate (blade) at someone's face with force. I doubt it was accidental and my immediate thought is that this is manslaughter (although perpetrator is part of the protected class so who knows).

I don’t know what you are taking issue with then? Yes, I think he intentionally swing his leg up, in an effort to knock the guy down and take him out of the play, like I said. No, I do NOT think he intended to kill the guy. Is he responsible and should he face criminal charges, yeah, I think so. But again, I don’t think he intended to kill the guy.

Sorry if I misunderstood you or read too quickly. I'm aligned with you then. But I do think he should face charges (not 1st degree obviously).

So you think he woke up that morning and said “I’m going to murder Adam today, and the best way to do it is to swing my leg up at some point during this game and get him just right across the neck.” You think that? I just want to confirm.
Did he wake up in the morning thinking that, no? But over the course of the game did something happen where he said “fuck this guy?” Sure. I’m not gonna definitely say he tried to hurt him but it’s not a great look

Yeah, that’s possible, who knows? A man can get pretty heated, but not necessary want to kill someone over it. I think people jumping on this idea he was trying to intentionally KILL the guy that way are pretty ridiculous, frankly.

Race being involved always brings more people out of the weeds. Just a sad situation all around.

Not sure u could prove intentionality anyway unless he said it during the game or wrote it in his journal.

It’s a freak accident for sure, but it’s happened a bunch of times in the NHL. Encourage those that are hearing it’s possibly criminal to consider the source. Hockey media is pretty universally on the side of it being an accident. I’ve actually had it happen to me, hit the visor though.

I think it was the ‘87 Final Four when IU faced #1 ranked prohibitive favorite UNLV. Known as the Runnin’ Rebels, Knight turned the tables on Tarkanian and UNLV by running on them so they never could get their defense set. Went on to beat Syracuse in the final on Keith Smarts baseline jumper off a feed from Thomas.

His '76 team is still considered to be the best ever. Last team to go undefeated. If Scott May doesn’t break his arm in 75, it’s likely IU goes undefeated two years in a row and Bobby has back to back championships. Those teams were loaded and deep.

A true gentleman too. My Grams said that he once saw a lady front row on the other side of the court without a seat, so he threw her a chair from the IU bench. That’s her story and I’m sticking to it. 🤔

Wonder if they bury him upside down per his wish.

The Purdue IU rivalry was unmatched when Knight and Keady were at the helm. Knights famous chair toss was during one of those games.

All I can say.
A man who did bad. But also did a lot of good. He wasn't perfect. Far from it, like most of us.

I’ll never forget when watching his television show in the early 1980’s, BK said he wanted to introduce everyone to the average Purdue fan. In walks a donkey wearing Purdue gear………

I saw him at a small venue speak. It was amazing how he could remember all the players and events. His life views are something that will be missed!

Knight was one that required his players to be true student athletes. He had a 98% graduation rate for all players that stayed all four years.

That was on defunct station WTTV in Indy. Chuck Marlow was the host of Knight's weekly show. So many stories..........
