he won't be a bust the kid is an animal but it pisses me off to lose guys to meyer. he's a scumbag who thrives in the underworld of recruiting. just like charlie adjusted his strategy from last year regarding "commitment", he's going to have to use another angle of attack for situations like this. i still think ND is getting quality kids like jonas, caveman, floyd, etc. let's see if we can land a few more in the 11th hour here. stay positive and GO IRISH!!!!!

I can see how everyone is pissed how we lost a recruit to Meyer. Best thing that can happen is we play Florida in a BCS bowl and kick their ass and steal not one, but two of their recruits for tratou and hunter

We don't have to add anymore.......everything since Floyd has been icing on the cake. Don't get too spoiled........if we don't add any more committments it's still our best class depth and talent wise that I can even think of.

ND still can not seem to land a big time DT.

what are you talking about. Just because they dont have 5 stars or start as a freshman mean anything. Look at Ian Williams. He was a 3star and played great this year. The only reason hafis is a 3* is because he hasnt gotten his tape in. And Brandan Newman just plays against questionable competition. * rankings mean shit unless they translate to success on the field.

Ok guys,
We all knew that there was going to be someone to decommit. It is part of today's college football. This class is still beyond great with or without Omar. We must move on and not dwell. Further, no need to bash on Omar for his decision. He is a young kid who is being torn a million directions. Look how he went to UM and then commited to ND. I kinda smelled this one. Let's celebrate who we have and not who we don't.

"Just watching Notre Dame, their style and how they played," Hunter said as reasons for making the switch. "It doesn't really fit with the way I play. I am not really sure about the coaching staff there, I know they are good guys and I love them, but I am not comfortable with the decision I made. I am officially decommitting from Notre Dame."

That is utter bs. This kid doesnt even make sense. He contradicted himself about 100000 times in this interview alone.

1) he first says "I fell in love with Notre Dame when I was there and I liked the coaching staff and facilities and that won me over."

and later in the article, he says

"Just watching Notre Dame, their style and how they played," Hunter said as reasons for making the switch. "It doesn't really fit with the way I play. I am not really sure about the coaching staff there,"

2) "The thing that he told me was that he wanted to be closer to home and a place where his parents can watch him. In the end he just thought in the south was going to be a better fit for him."

and then omar says

"I am definitely looking at USC, Florida, and Auburn, those schools that have kept in touch with me"

Does this kid know where the hell Califonia is on the map? It's would be easier for his parents to see him play at ND than at USC. Kid needs a geography lesson.

3) "Just watching Notre Dame, their style and how they played," Hunter said as reasons for making the switch. "It doesn't really fit with the way I play.

Last i checked, it's a perfect match for his style of play. He will be better in a 3-4, than a 4-3 because he is a prototypical nose tackle. Kid needs a football tutor

In Conclusion: Maybe he wasn't smart enough for Notre Dame, he needs a geography lesson and a football tutor. He is/will be a monster, but he's about to make a stupid, stupid decision. Good Riddance, thanks for nothing omar.

P.S. Anyone wanna kidnap Urban Liar with me?

I know Southern California was looking at him, but it's possible he meant South Carolina in that reference.

Not defending him, just pointing out we're making an assumption (me included).

Instead of debating it, let's talk about those players who want to be irish.

I'm glad that he came out and stated what seems to have been known for a few weeks.... This is a huge decision for him and whatever he decides, I hope it's based on facts and sound reasoning.

I still want this young guy at ND but I'm not going to bash him for deciding to look elsewhere. I can't imagine how difficult a decision this is for a high schooler to make.

Good luck Omar....

musberger justed asked kirk his thoughts on the Irish for next year and how much they will improve and kirk said maybe 6 wins. i'm sick of this garbage. charlie should simply be embarrassed and have the boys ready to compete next year. eff this! so sick of the media. i guess we brought it on ourselves by scraping 3 wins but still tired of the media just taking shots. they'd take shots if ND ran the table. help me get over the media bias pls!

good call bolt. it has to be a very tough decision. and when high schoolers see big names like notre dame, they get big eyes, but then they come down to earth. i hope him the best, but hope he realizes what opportunites he would have at notre dame. i'm not sure how many people realize how good of an education you would be getting at notre dame as well. but wish him the best. we'll still have a team that will be very talented, and i think corwin is smart enough to find people to fit into those situations.

I really think that his coach and TJ Pridemore talked him out of going to Notre Dame

Oh well. He sounds pretty ignorant, but whatever. As long as we keep the rest of the class, all is good.

Any possibility that D-Walk got in his ear? From casual observation and the way his early NFL entry went, it seemed as if he was never on the same page with CW.

When I consider what's on the dline already, it's not a devasting blow. Omar will be great in college, may get a little overlooked in the SEC, but this doesnt diminish Notre Dames shot at a national title in 08 :))).

You're right, because ND has no shot at a national title next year, with or without Omar.

I was worried about Newman and Williams because their names aren't just thrown out there every days, but I'm hearing Newman is doing outatanding in San Antonio. Makes it easier to move forward.

OK
We have a LONGGGGGGGGGGG way to go on the DL and OL!!!! Until those (2) units are fixed and improve vastly we will have NO chance at a national title...we have a long way to go guys please lets be a little realistic!!!

The loss of Omar and Trattou (sp? and do not care sp) in back to back years is a HUGE blow!!!!
