Sounds like an attempt to repair their image.
If that was the plan, then I wouldn't think that the Republican House members would be furious.

It sounds more like potential candidates trying to convince the public that they are the person for the job with the assumption that the public would then put pressure on their local representative to vote a certain way.

Sounds like a terrible way of deciding which representative is the best strategic choice to lead the House.

I’m not sure why they can’t spend the weekend inside without cameras and hash it out. Would be my approach. That and not inviting Gaetz.

I think a 12 year term limit works. Still, campaign finance reform. Get the damn money out.

Sounds like shit show at the fuck factory.

The current leader of the party loves a show. That's what this is. Bachelor meets Vanderpump Rules, but it's only Speaker of the House. Nothing to be taken seriously.

Forum off.

The fact that both of these men initially thought that this was a good idea is concerning. Something so basic. I have close to zero belief that either of these men have enough strategic vision to properly lead the House.

My district. A Democrat won two cycles ago then the GOP gerrymandered the state and moved 30000 black voters to SC06 which is Clyburns district. Pretty sure he didn’t object to it but either way it made SC01 must less competitive. It’s pretty much the most liberal district in the state and has been rapidly going purple and shifting blue every cycle since Appalachian Trail Mark Sanford held it.

Had the democrats gerrymandered it, the New York Times would have praised it.

GOP already threatening to impeach a judge who hasn’t even done a thing yet.

if this is your news, it explains a lot.

99% of gerrymandered districts are GOP. It’s the only way they can retain power in the House and state legislatures. But go on…..

Please don’t screen shot and post a Fox News article to show me what’s in yours.

This guy is a piece of ......

If true, he needs to be purged. I think leaders of both parties should agree to mutual purge of X members each. Drop the worst of the worst from each side for the benefit of the country.

I’d pick this one for sure.

I can get down with all that but good luck with it. That’s like taking the crack pipe and the crack away from a junkie.
You’re right but who on this thread would be against his proposal? Surely, everyone can agree Congress should abide by all those rules…even though we know they’ll never enact them.

David Duke without the baggage.
Another indicator that I should be skeptical that he can strategically lead the Republican House members.

Who in their right mind, would think that referring to himself as "David Duke without the baggage" is even remotely a good idea. Combine that with the initial decision to agree to a televised debate on Fox with the Speaker candidates...... I have low expectations.
