Since we have such an abundance of players in the all-star games, what do you think the most challenging/interesting matchup will be?

Hunter vs Cave?
Slaughter vs Walker?
Crist, Floyd vs Blanton?
Cwynar, Newman vs TRob, Crist?
McDonald vs Gray?

There are so many matchup, just curious to see who people think will stand out....

I think both of the line match-ups of cave vs. hunter and trob vs. cwynar and newman will be exciting...but the interesting question is who do u root for to win these match-ups!? So i'm with GoIrish, i am most excited to see how our guys do up against the rest of the top talent!

Personally I am eager to see Blanton v Floyd if the matchup should arrive. I want to see how MF stacks up against top coverage, see if he is ready to come in and play a big role in the offense.

Cave v Hunter should also be a good one. Hunter gets most of the love in here but I bet he hasn't had to face anyone as strong as Braxton. Besides they are probably going to be buddies so I hope whoever loses the battle is getting shit from the other guy.

But yes they should all be interesting matchups. What stations, times, etc. are they on?

400 :D

It's just about the same every year. Somewhere around the 3rd weekend of April I think.

Honestly, I am looking forward far more to seeing if Jimmy is advancing his physical stature (as far as adding muscle to his frame and polish to his timing with Kamara, Paris, Tate and Grimes) and whether or not the O-line looks more like a unit than they did this past season.

Really, I am going to be looking for word on how Chris Stewart is progressing as well. It seemed like he was a changed man after his near-transfer at mid-season and I had been reading a lot of good things about his development late in the season too. If he can over take Duncan at RT or Turkovich at LG, we may be seeing a real honest to goodness line forming in the spring.

If Chris Stewart and Sam Young both have fruitful off-seasons, can you imagine a left side of 6'8" 325 lbs Young and 6'4" 350 lbs Stewart and Wenger at center? Makes me drool thinking thoughts like "hand-off to Hughes looking left, he breaks through the line and is hauled down after an 8 yard gain....Tom, did you see the blocks by Young and Stewart on that play? Let's go to the replay to watch this hole open again...." Of course...that is also assuming there is not a required lead block by Schwapp...because then it may sound somethinglike this instaed..."hand-off to Hughes running left, and he is met in hole and driven back as Schwapp had trouble keeping his feet on that play Pat..."

Anyway, won't almost all of this year's class not play in their first B&G game until April of 2009 anyway? They aren't all going to be EE's so that would pretty much mean they won't be particiapting in spring ball THIS year...

I actually expect both Young and Stewart to be at 335 and 340 respectively next year. Or at least I would think those are their goal weights. I definately agree that would be an exciting left side of the line but it won't happen unless Stewart improves on his pass blocking. At the end of the season he appeared to be our best run blocker and if he spends the offseason getting in even better shape and working on pass blocking, I think he has a shot to be as good as any of the other guys on that Line.

I'd like to see a game with our recruits as a team vs other schools'. 22 Men. Perfect for an offense and a defense haha

That isn't a crazy idea, crazyman. I guess on Jan 5th we hope for the ND guys to put up big numbers and also hope no one gets hurt either. Trevor and Cwynar gotta get ready for the Blue-Gold game in April.

Last week this wasn't a thought in my head but now it is considering the situation. I will be keeping my eye on Omar vs Braxston. I know they are rooming together. But you also know that Braxston will know about Omar's trip to Florida the following week. Might be interesting to see how those two go at it with everything that's going on...

I hope Braxston works his magic.

T-Rob v Cwynar is the only realistic one i thought? only the EE's can play in the game..i.e last year Armando Allen and (already forgotten the name damnit) were in the game. The rest, i.e Ian williams, walker, etc were on the sidelines watching by where the recruits stand
