I guess we will never know what is really going on in that family until NSD

when there is no season of football happening it turns recruiting into the main attraction and then it gets crazy sometimes.

I went to there boards and no one is expecting a commitment, they are basically hoping for one.

It will be interesting to finally see this recruitment to come to an end. I really don't know what to think right now. He might be a silent 2 PSU, or even FSU for that matter. Walker is playing the game of recruiting, as I would be tempted to do 2.

But most of these Penn State fans don't even know how much we are in on Deon right now and they think they are heavy leaders. So they could just be expecting a commitment because they think it is a one horse race.

They're probably saying something along the lines as "yeah i went over to an ND site, they all think they have a great shot at Deion. If only they knew that he'd be a nittany lion in the end"

Looks like Deion left at 8:00 this morning for Penn State and has been there all day and is going to see the Basketball game vs. Princeton.

yeah, PSU is just not a bball school. There's a kid in my conference for bball who just committed there and he really is not that good, he's just 6'8.

But from some statements on the Penn St. board it looks like they were having some chants for Deion and good fan support. That could hurt.

Guys,
The next 60 days are gonna tear most of you apart. Trust me things will get really wild when all these kids get to the AA game and start talking. There will be rumors galore. We will be hearing that Crist is forgoing college to play water polo. Omar will be headed to the WWE to be the next Rock. Golic will decide to follow his dad directly to ESPN as the third wheel on Mike and Mike. So, just relax guys and stop the speculating. Wait until the guys make it public. If none of the remaining say yes, I will salute everyone we have on board as they are all top notch talent and character guys who will represent ND with valor.

Deion named a final two of ND and PSU, so FSU and USC are officially out. There was also a little bit of interesting news from last night's PSU visit. Word is that the WeAreState.com guys (PSU's Scout site) are mad at one of the writters at Irish Eyes because he called Deion during his Penn State visit. Here's the funny thing though, the Irish Eyes writter apparently didn't know that he was at PSU, and Deion actually took the time to anwser his phone and talk to an Irish site during his visit at PSU, LOL! :)

Kudos, to the IrishEyes reporter. LOL thanks GG. And if you compare the two commit classes between the schools it is not even close. Deion come to S.B. we want you to be part of the Irish family.

I can't believe that an ND guy would call him while he is on a "date" at PSU.

I think that the NCAA should ban all calls on cell phones (on top of texting). You can only call a recruit at his home. That way, he can never pick up your call while suffering through a boring game at another school.

Sounds like PSU people are sufficiently worried.

But the writer didn't know deion was at PSU because Deion isn't answering his phone anymore, but I have heard that he has stayed in contact with a PSU reporter. So don't read to much into this. By the way if you go to the scout PSU free board look for the thread where PSU is getting angry at Mike Frank even though he didn't call Deion , it will be easy to find. They are absolutely unloading on notre dame and the MikeFrank.

According to his dad Deion plans on majoring actuarial science. Both ND and PSU offer this major.

wow. actuarial science. if i had to guess, that must require much more focused grades/exam scores in math than other majors. It's very rare you see a football player going for math. Deion is either very smart or very committed, or both. I've been thinking about taking the first two actuarial exams for awhile now.

Yeah, that's pretty cool. My grandfather was an actuary with MetLife for about 50 years.

From what I've heard it's extreamly hard, but starting pay for the low end ones are around 75K+ a year, and the mid level guys get 200K+ a year, and it of course gets even higher if you work for the bigger insurance firms and advance in the field. Actuaries are the people that create the probability/risk tables that insurance companies utilize to set rates.

Thanks for dumbing it down for me Gip. I really had no idea what actuarial science was. Hopefully Deion will come to ND and we'll need someone with his math skills to keep up with his receiving stats.
