It’s an ignorant and outdated standard. It would be far more damaging to their rep if they lowered academic requirements instead of giving the bag to elite players who qualify.

I love Notre Dame. I grew up a USC fan and, you know, that little rivalry that USC and Notre Dame have has always been really good. But being a Polynesian, growing up and seeing Manti Te'o play, the first thing that comes up in my mind is grit.
