So the majority of Republicans really want Trump to run again? It’s unclear if this is popular consensus. I suppose it depends on who is running on the Democratic side, which is lowkey unclear as well. I know we’re still out of 2024 for a while, but it’s still a curiosity.

I am not convinced that MD Governor Hogan isn't running.

It will be interesting to see how it all plays out and how much allegiance to Trump needs to be expressed (if at all) for whoever runs (presuming Trump doesn’t run again). Do the Republicans want to play a fresh start or anchor themselves to the past? Can it be played both ways?

Without looking I think polls would show more than 50.1% would want Trump to run. I think if Republicans cared about winning they would want someone else. 2020 was an election of either voting for Trump or against Trump. Elections are typically won by whatever base is more fired up to vote.

I will make a bold prediction though. I think both sides pander the hell out of 2024. First presidential election neither candidate is a white male. Its going to be black women v white women or black man v black man or a mixture of.

It’s a sad state of affairs when both of those characteristics (ethnicity and gender) are deemed pandering, but knowing how politics commonly operate, it’s not an unreasonable label. It’s a bold prediction for sure. Who knows? Maybe both parties will offer up qualified candidates.

I'm expecting the Dem's to formally announce that they will only accept candidates who are Latinx dwarf (oops I mean height challenged) lesbians

The problem for the Republicans is how late and reactionary they are when it comes to something like this. They are also terrible at getting the media working for them early. Republicans need to start grooming someone now, especially if they want a minority candidate so that they are both ahead of the Trump shitstorm that will come along, and ahead of Dems attacking them calling it pandering and hollow.

Are Republicans bad at getting media support or is the other way around?

The party of pandering would look silly calling out Republicans for pandering.

I think anyone but Trump would have won in 2020 and think the same about 2024. I think I would have a legit shot against Biden in 2024.

1. Both, but they do themselves no favors.

2. You say that, but it's part of what Dems did in 2008 when McCain brought in Palin out of nowhere.

3. Depends on anyone but Trump. Can't be a retread of Trump with his same message.

Sadly, Trump will likely win the nomination if he decides to run. Only way that doesn’t happen is if the field is whittled down to 2 candidates quickly.

Only way Biden wins is if Trump is the Republican candidate.

1. Media is too slanted. You say they do themselves no favors but at the same time dems can do no wrong and republicans just waking up is racist and sexist.

2. McCain was never going to win. But at the same time the winner that year was primarily picked and won because hes black.

3. ANYONE but Trump would have won in 2020 and will win 2024 against Biden.

1, it's slanted on both sides. The problem, as I mentioned is the Republicans refuse to get out in front of anything, letting the slant win.

2, Sure, McCain wasn't going to win, but that VP pick was a painfully obvious "See we Republicans believe in diversity too! She's a woman!" it was embarrassing.

3, Again, I wouldn't be too sure. Republicans have a great shot, but they need to choose wisely. The sooner the better.

A republican would be called sexist for peeing on the toilet seat. A democrat would get away with it with the media saying the toilet was white and it caused them too emotional distress to piss correctly and would call for more black toilets. The left controls the narrative.

2, Sure, McCain wasn't going to win, but that VP pick was a painfully obvious "See we Republicans believe in diversity too! She's a woman!" it was embarrassing. We arent going to choose the most qualified, we are just going to pick from this tiny pool of black women for VP and SCOTUS.

3, Again, I wouldn't be too sure. Republicans have a great shot, but they need to choose wisely. The sooner the better. Maybe, but as a Republican I would love to see the dems roll out with Biden or Kamala.

Sure it's slanted on both sides. But if you can't objectively see the overwhelming discrepancy the vast, vast majority of media and entertainment industry portrays between conservatives and liberals, then this isn't a genuine conversation you're trying to have.

That's a bit revisionist. It's easy to say that now. The fact is that mccain led in the polls (I think essentially every one) for all of '08. Until September 16th. He was the favorite and odds on pick to win by virtually everybody until just 7 weeks before the election. Then I don't think he ever led again in a single poll. The reason wasn't palin. It was that Lehman Bros. collapsed on September 15th...and the economic snowball really took off and hit home on Americans, particularly the subprime crisis.

Which polls? Your statement is almost entirely incorrect, save for pockets of 2008 when McCain was leading in the average of polls.

Country wasn't very "woke" back then.

8 hours seems like a long time. I'm not a legal expert.

No way she sold out dad and brothers. Others, though, possibly.

Hope they gave her time to go to the bathroom. I wonder if her support payments influence what she says?
