Watching this again, biggest concern I have is that he throws the ball like a pitcher, lifts his back foot off the ground. He loses a ton of velocity in doing so. That being said, the couple throws where he doesn't do that, and where he really drives the ball, he zips it in. I'd love him as a 2nd QB in this class.

He's lifting his foot, but it looks to me that he's doing it when following through with his throw.

He is following through, but when he lifts his back foot off the ground they're not as strong as when he keeps it planted. Throws at 2:09 and 2:52 have some pretty nice zip on em when he does.

It's gonna be tough to get a quality second QB. The best case scenario is something like PSU's duo this year of Allar/Pribula. But the thing is that Pribula is probably a huge PSU fan. I know we might lead for Avery Johnson, but not sure he's necessarily a huge ND fan, and I'm starting to get the sense that he's being slow played and will move on sooner or later.

He's a composite top 100 player and the #7 QB in the country on 247. Would think he's tough to turn down if no one else is close to a decision.

I would take his commitment in a heartbeat, check the play around the 7:00 minute mark he takes 1 step and throw a 53 yard bomb and accurate. Kid would have the biggest arm of any QB we have recruited in the last 8-10 years.

Just to be clear, my comment was not meant to be slight on Chris. I'd take his commitment this weekend, if he wanted to give it. It was more directed at the idea that at some point, what I'd like to see us do is put together a 2 QB class. With the 2nd being a legitimate prospect, not Ron Powlus III.

It would seem likely that, in order for that to happen it's going to have to be either a young man that has a very strong affinity for ND and/or a guy where he's under recruited. Vizzina checked the first box from the start but now being a top 100 guy and clearly in the national spotlight with his offer list, it seems less likely to check the 2nd. Making this, seemingly, much harder to get done. That's all.

Have to wonder If Tommy takes the best available - or he tries to find QBs similar to Buchner? Angelli is certainly not in Tyler's mold. Would have to flip offensive schemes around too much.

Whoever wants in the class first from the group of: Nico, Arnold, Vizzina, Moore.

Slightly prefer Arnold but wouldn't say no to either at this point. Vizzina is the #86 player in the 247 composite which is only 15 spots behind where Buchner ended up. He has offers from Clemson, UF, PSU, Michigan, Tennessee, and Auburn. Vizzina honestly might have a better arm but love Arnold's mobility and pocket presence.

Nothing specific about Vizzina, just a general uneducated opinion on trying to recruit players out of the state of Alabama.

Arnold is my preferred QB because of his athleticism and the fact that we aren't getting Nico. Hard pass on Dante Moore unless ND strikes out with everyone else..

Devil’s advocate - what’s stopping UT and TAMU from doing the same thing with Arnold? Neither have offered him. God knows they have the NIL money to throw around and it certainly would be easy to sway an in state kid.

Interested to know why you’re down on Moore? To my eye him and Nico are a clear cut above Arnold and Vizzina.
