Back to the original idea of the post before this navy guy fell overboard.... This year has made me realize how die hard of a fan I truly am, and how this doesn't apply to most people around me. Everyone I talk to about sports, almost everyone, don't seem to be watching when their teams go down in flames. I'm from Detroit, you should see the Tigers fans last year, the Lions fans this year, the Pistons fans couple years ago... but me, I watch every saturday and wait for my phone to ring from my Brother with his report on how Notre Dame is the worst team ever and since they lost to Michigan they basically lsot to a Division 2 school.
Well, you know what, I will continue to watch. It hurt me so bad to see them lose to Navy, but in my heart it will feel so much better when we murder these teams in the future.
I will watch because my heart is with the blue and the gold.
I will watch because I still get goose bumps watching those golf helmets rush out of the stadium to the best college football song ever.
I will watch because no matter what our football players do on the field, it is what they do off the field that I respect the most when compared to other football programs.
I will watch because these kids left homes, favorable weather, and monetary benefits to play for a school they believe in, a coach that they believe in, a tradition that they believe in.
Let everyone get on Weis this year.... he is only going to work even harder to restore this program, and when he does, he WILL NOT let up when we are up 35 points.... he is going to take a page out of the Patriots book this year, and defeat every team by as much as he can in order to prove his point that we are not as bad as everyone said.
