Deion just came out with a list of his top three, ND did not make the cut. They are Florida St., LSU, and Penn State. But he is still planning on comming to the Navy game. I think it's just about time to send out a new offer because I think ND's chances with Walker and Harper are slim to none, and Baldwin seems to be a Pitt lean. Come on down Brandon Green and/or Garell Robinson.
One trip is probably a small price to pay if you think that you can really "wow" a recruit.
If you are trying to get two more WRs, it probably makes sense to send out another offer to make sure that you get two of them (and maybe put pressure on the ones that haven't committed yet)
ESPN.com still has ND listed as his #3 school.
.At least hes visiting, it can't hurt can it?
True, you never know what'll happen if you get them on campus, especailly on a gameday. Remember that when Omar came to ND he really had no intention of picking them. It was almost a sight seeing trip on his way to Michigan.
For those of you that don't know know Deion will still be making his official visit to ND for the Navy game. He is also going to have Jimmy Clausen as his host since the two have seemed to have formed a good friendship. I'm also hearing reports that ND may not be as big of a long shot here as most have thought for some time. Let's hope everything goes great this weekend and then see how things shake out next week.

Which teams appear to be ND's biggest competion for Deion's commitment?

I could not imagine an offense with Tate, Kamara, Floyd and Walker. Plus, if you have a combination of those guys out there, that means great matchups for guys like Parris and Goodman

Deion has chosen to stay at ND until tomorrow

OK I have to know what a big time WR recruit seen that would sell him on ND Saturday!!! I have to believe the young guys really think they are going to save ND and just ozze conficence!!!! What do you think? It cannot be the offense that is selling these guys.![]()
Remember that these guys aren't just football recruits. They go to a school to get education and in the case of Notre Dame I think the guys who end up going there recognize that academics for the student athlete is serious. These high school players realize that only one team wins a NC and one person wins the Heisman each year. So even if you go to a program in contention for the NC this year, that doesn't mean you will be in 3-4 years, or that you winning it means a chance to play professional.
To conclude that players only go to schools for those reasons is a slight to them. I am sure they all want to be on a winning program and many have aspirations of continuing their football career. If they commit its because they are looking at a bigger picture than what is currently happening on the field for a few hours on Saturdays. If they feel this program is turning around, great. Commit away, the more the better.
I understand your points and agree...I just think it is interesting that they are seeing something that makes them want to be part of the future!
If Weis can recruit like this when he is 1-8 what can he do when he starts winning consistantly!!!

I think the recruiting success and recent commitments given all the other troubles on the field makes this season the most peculiar (right word? suggest another if not) season I have been apart of since I started following Notre Dame.
