Rankings Predicament

After Notre Dame beats BC on saturday, the Irish will be 2-5 and people will begin to say "Charlie Weis has turned it around in south bend." What happens, though, after the irish beat usc? can you really have a 3-5 team ranked in the top 25? What do you guys think?

Look at the evidence, three straight wins, all over top 10 or former 10. Of course this is all hypothetical; heck, maybe usc walks into south bend and pulls off another great victory. but it will be interesting to see how this works out.

I think best case scenario for us is 'Others Receving Votes,' if we win out. We could then crack the 22-25 range with a bowl VICTORY over a 'Florida State--quality opponent.

I apologize for using 'Florida State' and 'quality' in the same sentence. You get my point.

I say we upset BC....lose a close one to USC and win the last 4 to finish 6-6 and squeek into a small bowl and win...creating great momentum for next year!
