How does everyone feel about the green jerseys?

I almost forgot that coach Weis had said before the season we will be wearing the green for the USC game in honor of the '77 team.

I'd be happy with 1-11...if that was the 1.

Wouldn't we all... but i'm hoping we beat a few other teams

I like the new green ones every once in a while, but I'm not a big fan the brighter green ones with the golden yellow numbers like the ones they'll be wearing against USC later this year.

Is USC going retro too, or are their present uniforms the same ones they wore in '77?

I have a conflicting view of the green jerseys. I love them but I think Charlie should use discretion when deciding when to wear them. The wearing of the green is sacred, although honoring the '77 SC game is good cause. How about Digger's speech at the '77 pep rally? He was fired up! I look forwars to the day when ND will again be the Green Machine.

This argument has been had before on this site. I know everyone loves the classic blue and gold, but I certainly would not mind going to greens full-time. Want to be the green machine? Walk your team into a stadium of 80,000 + rowdy Irish fans supporting their team weekly with a 'green-out.'

I was actually thinking about the green jerseys last week, before the Purdue game. For some reason I was half-expecting Weis to break em out for that game, as we had a half chance of winning. I like the jerseys every once in a while, but personally I believe we need to stick with tradition--especially at ND.

We need to get back to the regular blue and gold jerseys striking fear into our opponents, rather than trying out different colors in order to confuse them (or us).

What exactly defines tradition in terms of our uniforms? We wore green as regular unis way back in the day, and our blue and white/gold has gone through so many different shades and changes over the years.

How about the fans in the stadium wear the kelly green for the 'luck of the Irish,' and the players can wear whatever you want? I'm more concerned with the atmosphere (or lack thereof) in our stadium, as opposed to the shirts on our players' backs.

And, I would prefer the play of our team to strike fear into opponents'.

What does tradition have to do with anything when ND is perceived as one of the worst teams in Division 1A ? Weis has to go? The question is, can ND beat Navy?

I think the green jerseys should come out for special games, not out of desperation.

I think that's how they are being used. Although I would like to see it be an un-announced thing, I think it's just extra pageantry for our rivalry game.

Love/hate here too - I'm not buying one of them until I see us beat someone serious in em...USuCK would be nice

The game is a special occasion (1977) during desperate times. I think its a perfect time to wear the green. GO IRISH!

Have we considered wearing pink jerserys? Maybe the other team would start to love us, then JC and Co can shove it down their throats!

I think some football team somewhere should pick pink as their third uni. Who's with me?!

like i said on GH, i got the montana jersey for chrismas a couple years ago.

depending on how the BC game goes, i'll probably bust out the green montana for the USC game.

i wore my blue 83 for the ucla game and if they beat BC, i'm sticking with that one next week

Yeah I can't decide if I'm going to watch the game yet. UCLA game was the only one this year I've not been able to watch. May just pray and skip the game!

Perhaps I should watch it over the internet and continually have refresh the page as the picture keeps freezing? Last week was certainly the only time I've done that!

Yeah I gave up on that. Not near enough bandwidth at home to be able to watch it!

Iowa should make all visiting teams wear pink.:pbanana:

That '77 National Champs hat with the green sides and white front is slick. I'm on that like a Bush on free rent.
