People need to realize that Weis has yet to have a complete team that he can count on, the last two years, he's had starters that could play with anybody, but hasn't had any kind of depth to speak of. This year half the team are new starters, but also the back ups have no to very little experience. We need to give Weis the benefit of the doubt, because he surely hasn't forgotten how to coach, just too many ineperienced players on the field at the same time.
Let me start by saying i am not bashing ND in any way. Just a college football fan here making a few observations. With that out of the way...im not so sure i understand what you're trying to get at with this post. Weis has had 3 recruiting classes to work with, and by now those players should be "developed" into being ready to play. Just becuase a player isnt a starter, doesnt mean he doesnt play. Last year, against the #2 team in the nation on the road...OSU went on their first TD drive down the field with their ENTIRE 2nd team O-Line. So it might be that Weis isnt playing enough players and getting them experience. However, i dont watch all the ND games, so i could be entirely wrong. from the 2005 recruiting class, 11 players start...all with significant experience. Whats the number for ND?
Also for the Ty guys that want to compare Washington to ND, especially after the close game with USC. UW will not get the same play from USC as ND would get from them. Washington is just another game for them, but ND is a rival game and they will give all out effort for this game.
there's no way you can say this. Obviously USC couldnt have treated it like another game...becuase if they did, they would have lost. And no offense...but i think USC would treat ND as just another game this year based on team play
