Start:
-Alridge,Hughes, and Allen.
-Kerry Neal
-Brian Smith
-Mcneil
-Walls

Bench:
-Wooden
-Lambert
-Brockington
-Price

Seniors are not getting the job done at all and let the more talented players play. All I can remember is Kerry Neal, a freshman, time after time beat a good OT. Who cares if the 5th year seniors dont start. They are 5th year seniors for a reason.

So, three runningbacks starting? You proposing we move to the wishbone? If only we had DJ we could be the 4 horsemen again. :stickoutt

Agree with all but how can you forget Duncan and Turkovich, They should never be allowed to play another down ever again with the performance they are giving. I say start Romine and Carufel in front of them.

Now we're telling the man who to bench. What's next the pre game breakfast?

I don't think Brockington deserves a benching. I'd like to see more T. Smith out there though.

I agree in starting more underclassmen, the university of Utah started a bunch of new players against UCLA last week and the change did them good. Maybe ND needs that.

Ok well first of all - do we even have a second punter? Price has been shaky but, man..... I wouldn't want to see us put anyone else in.

Start

Aldridge?HUGhEs (Huge), and Allen - yes this should be our rotation, there is nothing besides possibly pass protection from Jabbie that can be offered by our other backs

Neal - Simply amazing... was he an OLB or a DE in that game? Either way he should get a lot more pt if not the starting job

Smith - Ditto - I would say that he and Vernaglia should be battling for time

McNeil - Y'know I really don't think it gets worse that Lambert/Wooden, but if he hasn't won the role from them yet then there is a reason.... I wonder what will happen when we have Blanton and Gray competing over that spot...

Bench

Wooden/Lambert - MAYBE see one of them as the nickel.... Really if Corwin Brown cannot make these guys into decent players then no one will

Travis Thomas - He has honestly just regressed... Quality person that must have some issue to be causing the poor performance on-field

Duncan/Turk - Terrible. F.

Sullivan - Not benched but if Wenger is back then he must give Sullivan a run for his money. No Fifth-year is worth his complete destruction of us at PSU

I agree with starting smith and neal. I did not notice them until late in the second quarter yesterday. They got great pressure on the quarterback, especially neal. Having a great pass rush can change the dynamic of the defense and cause a lot of problems for the opposing offense. If these two guys can consitantly pressure the opposing QB I think it will make our whole defense better.

Thank god somebody said that. They do not belong playing at a D-1 level.

Neal is a animal he will be starting this week I think. He can't get to the QB thank god we have that. Reminds me of a young Shawne Merriman. McNeil should take over the place of Lambert. Dismiss Duncan and Turkovich they should be running the scout team for 8th graders.Start Kamara now Jimmy whenever Kamara is in the game he looks for him. Does that tell you anything the 2 have timing down. I love the three some of Aldridge, Hughes and Allen. Reminds me of that '88 team they had Culver, Brooks, Watters all those. Sully needs to me moved to guard and put Wegner in his place as soon as he is healthy. To build for next year.

Concerning Duncan and Turkovich, how many minutes did they get last year? Also, how highly ranked were they coming out of HS? Are they suited ofr other spots on the O-line? They are juniors and I can not recall them playing much last year. Besides having talent along the O-Line we need numbers so it would help the team greatly if these two played well and we could rotate Romine and Carufel in there for a series or two. Hopefully all four of the players play well the rest of the year and comeback next year more confident and better players.

If I have to see one more TD or one more long pass with the back of a ND #20 jersey in the picture, I am going to scream!!!!! There is NO way the back-up can do worse then Wooden. He needs benched! Weis talked in the beginning of the year about not being afraid to bench guys on D because the depth was better...well why has he not done it yet?

Wooden is #22. The offender you speak of is Lambert #20. And yes, he shows that he can stay with just about any receiver on the field, but he NEVER turns around to look for the ball and gets burned every game. I say give McNeil a shot.

Neal and B. Smith were outstanding.

Yes, they definitely were. Weis said in his presser, though, that they're still "spotty" in run coverage and so they're still in the two-deep on run downs. But in passing situations - of which there will be PLENTY next week - they'll probably be seeing the field more and more.

These suggestions I couldn't agree with you more! These 4 haven't proved anything worthy of playing more than a few minutes a game (just to give their replacements a rest from time to time).

Yeah, Lambert does have an issue with not being able to take his eyes off the receiver. When the receiver looks up he should try it also.

Right on Golden Domer and Axl Rose. We need the change...doing the same thing over and over (getting beat) smacks of insanity!

Neal and B. Smith were outstanding.

This is over on the front page at GoldHelmet.

--My Prediction: Brian Smith will have to fight for playing time his whole career (You have 4 outstanding recruits coming in). I think Brian playing this year at OLB may happen but in my opinion will be a minor upset. ST is also a option but he may find that also hard to crack as ND’s depth of quality athletes has increased since Weis’s arrival, look for Brian to have a 5th year eligible or log some mop up minutes this season.--

Most of the reviews sound about right, but I think Smith is going to suprise!

Agreed - and I'll be the first to admit I didn't think he was going to be a real impact player when we recruited him. But he looked almost as good as Neal, and that's saying something.
