Malcolm is the little brother of '07 USC recruit Marshall Jones. He was also the RB that filled in for Marc Tyler when he went down at the start of the playoffs, and played very well in his stead.

It looks as though he will most likely be at least on everone's 100, 150, or 250 lists when the time comes, and he also play some LB for Oaks Christian as well.

Watched him run the ball a few times. He is very good, and actually has deceiving break away speed. Ever since I've seen him I've been extremely high on his abilities.

Malcolm made Rivals 10 to watch in '10.

Jones is the younger brother of USC 2007 signee Marshall Jones, and Malcolm has the same athletic upside. Jones could play running back or linebacker in college. He filled in for the injured Marc Tyler last year when Tyler missed the playoffs because of injury.

10 carries 85 yards 3 touchdowns tonight for Malcom.....vs. Morro Bay in the State Semifinals. Looked good, but looked like he runs high......was coming off a shoulder injury that kept him out 4 weeks. I doubt we see him play for us since he is from Cali and his brother plays at USC.

Can't remember where i read this. Might have been rivals or ESPN but, article said USC wants him as either a linebacker or fullback and Jones wants to be a tailback at the next level.

5/29 Greg Biggins ESPN reports Oaks Christian RB Malcolm Jones was offered by ND.

Notre Dame is definitely a school I'm interested in. That's a big offer and I think every player knows about the tradition and prestige at Notre Dame. They've been recruiting me for awhile, but it's great to get this offer and I plan to learn as much about them as I can.

Jones has had Stanford and UCLA leading for some time, but said he'll take his official visits in the fall and is still open to all the schools recruiting him.

And then on the exact other hand, Mike Frank talked to him and he said that Jones didn't give him the warm and fuzzies at all. He told Mike that he was going to visit some schools this summer, but he wasn't sure if ND was one of them. Also said that he'd entertain any and all offers, including ND. Hopefully Biggins' interview is closer to the truth.

Also, his brother goes to USC...

He is listed as an athlete but this kid hates d. Saw him, does not like to hit, has bad form, true runningback. In his mind at least

Who lists him as an ATH?

Rivals, Scout, and ESPN all have him listed as RB.

SN100 running back Jones talks top three

Sporting News

According to SN Malcolm Jones has UCLA, Stanford and CAL atop his list. USC, ND UAZ, OU and ORE are on the outside looking in.

Academics are real important to me and my family. My dad graduated from Harvard, so you can tell it's important to us. I really liked the academics of those three schools, number one.

Jones likes the direction these 3 programs are heading.

I want to help build a dynasty at one of those schools. Both Stanford and UCLA will be really good in the next couple of years, and Cal is a really good team. It'd be great to play for them ... It was a little hard (cutting USC from the list). SC is an amazing program. If you get a scholarship from them, then you know you're really good, but I just didn't know if I was a good fit for them.

At least this kid has 3 top academic schools at the top of his list after claiming that academics are important though I think for undergraduate education ND is obviously amidst those three.

I'm tired of the kids who claim academics is important and then put Florida, Miami, and Ohio State over everyone else.
