-----son of a b*tch. I see a new DE offer going out does anybody else?

Not right now. They go balls out for Ethan Johnson and Lewis-Moore is still on the table. Johnson would be awesome and there is a legitimate shot. LM would be a pretty good consolation prize.

If they fail to land either of them, it's still a good DL class. If an elite guy shows interest, maybe. But at this point, they don't offer for the sake of numbers.

Though OSU might have a slight edge on us, lets not forget Goebel. Unlike Chancey, we are in his top 3. So with 3 DE prospects - and maybe a 4th if we change our tune with Forston - I don't see an offer going out that soon either.

I do agree with you though, scooper. I think thats how it will turn out when all is said and done, with Ethan being priority #1, and Lewis-Moore receiving a sizeable amount of attention as well.

Set an announcement date for Sept. 17, his birthday. Our shot at him is next to zero. I think it's Texas, but Florida still has a chance.

--------We have 5 DL and that is what Weis told Goebel is the max. Weis is only pursuing possible DL guys that are announcing very late. This guy wasn't coming here in the first place and there isn't a spot for him now so nobody loses here.

I would have thought he would be an OLB in our defense. Either way, he ain't comin' here, unfortunately.

Weis told him he'd be a DE. He's got measurables for a 3-4 OLB, but he's a Jr. in HS and he would definently grow into a 3-4 DE.

Notre Dame made Chancey's top six along with Florida, Louisville, LSU, Texas, and Oklahoma. His teamate recently committed to Louisville making them a more intriguing option.

Per IK, he'll be visiting for MSU.

That's very interesting. Do you honestly think we'll add another D-lineman in this class? It doesn't matter to me, IMO, you can never have too much depth.

Depending on how things go with the rest of the guys on our list, I have trouble imagining us saying "no" if he offers his verbal. But I don't really see that happening.

That said, what do I know? And like we always say, just get the kid on campus and see what happens ...

I don't think it really matters. This was Chancey's qoute about the visit.

"I'm hoping to make my decision - I know it's going to be sometime in September," said Aghayere. "In our open week, I think my coach had scheduled me to go to Notre Dame for an official visit. I have already been basically to everywhere in my top six. I have to see how my schedule is, because I might use the Notre Dame visit to Louisville or some other school. A lot of teams wanted me to come down on that date, so I'll have to talk it out with my mom "

So, he may not be coming at all then? Oh well, his loss if he doesn't want to visit us. If he would rather play in Papa's stadium instead of the House that Rockne built, then, let him. Like I said, I thought it very interesting about him visiting, and, it doesn't really matter to me, if he comes and enjoys it, great, if not, well best of luck to him.

Go Irish!!!

No - he is going to COME, it's just that he doesn't sound all that excited about it. ("My coach scheduled it", etc.) Like I said, I'm definitely not holding my breath here, but let's just get the kid on campus ...

I don't think the coaches want 6 DL. Weis told several DL that he was taking FIVE. The staff knows Chancey is less then interested and it shows by his not even scheduling the visit, but his coach did. Which means one thing, HIS COACH KNOWS HOW GREAT ND CAN BE FOR A KID and it's obvious Chancey is going to verbal to Texas in the very near future. I wouldn't want a recruit that was 10 stars at this point because we already have 5 in this class and that would be overloaded one class. 5 DL made to ND and they should be rewarded by it. If I didn't want Forston after EJ verballed I wouldn't want anybody else. Numbers wise it definently doesn't make sense and you have to be a man of your word (Which Weis definently is) when taking recruits. Notice Forston commited early after EJ committed and then KLM to A&M. The staff already told Sabino that he was the LAST defensive player they were recruiting. Guys like Forston and KLM may have said they are still getting recruited by ND, but in reality they don't want to say ND dropped them.

---You're post is kind of confusing. Our staff WAS and IS higher on Omar than than that of Forston. EJ was our #1 DE on our board and we got him as well. Brandon Newman was made PRIORITY #1 at nose tackle. That leaves Cwynar who got his offer right off the bat after signing day and is absolutely perfect for a 3-4 DT (Who plays strong side DE in our defense and our staff calls that a DT.) Hafis Williams is only a 3 star because he has sent ZERO film out to Rivals/Scout and everybody else. There is nothing to evaluate him on so they give him 3 stars based on his early offers and stats (Rivals had him as a Jr. AA. Everybody else on that list is HIGHLY rated so take that for what it's worth.) Well I live in NJ and I know that he is on the #3 team in the state and no one runs on him because he is relentless just like Kuntz is. Now put Kuntz is Hafis' body and you have yourself quite a nasty and forocious player don't you? Our staff told SEVERAL DL that we were recruiting that they were taking 5. So excuse me if I'm confused if you don't get why we wouldn't have a spot for Forston. Apparently the staff didn't think he was God like you seem to. The recruiting services think he's good, but last time I checked they weren't college coaches evaluating talent. He's a beast yes, but once again our staff was HIGHER on Omar (nosetackle) and our #1 DE target was EJ so it wasn't like our staff smung and missed on the #1 guys on their board. So while it's nice to look at these rankings and stars, don't get too caught up in them because Rivals doesn't determine the integrity of our program and where they stand on the "Big Board" in the coaches office.

Nice post IK, just as a side note on the rankings in Rivals/Scout. Those rankings are based on, obviously, the positions they play in high school, and most high schools run a 4-3. While Forston, who is going to be a great player, may be the best 4-3 DT in high school right now doesn't mean that he would be a great DL in a 3-4 def, they are two totally different positions. This is probably why Hunter was a higher ranked on our boards because he is a prototypical NT, and Cwynar and Johnson are perfectly built for the DE position.

From ESPN:

Chancey Aghayere enjoys Florida visit, sets some others

ESPN's No. 2-rated defensive end Chancey Aghayere took in Florida's 59-31 win over Troy Saturday and came away impressed with what the Gators have to offer. He told ESPN affiliate GatorCountry.com, "They're the type of team that I'd like to play for. They were fast paced and everybody on defense was straight to the ball."

Aghayere, who also likes Florida's academics and tradition, has scheduled some other visits. "I'm going to Notre Dame on the 21st and then I'm going to LSU on October 2nd when they play Florida.

Additionally, he hasn't placed Florida atop his list, "I wouldn't say Florida is my favorite right now. It's still up for grabs. I've got to take all my visits." His top six remains Florida, LSU, Notre Dame, Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisville.

Man I hope that the comment about academics was strictly some (Every Single Person is a Nitwit) making that up. As for guys hustling to the ball.... well if UF doesn't give up at least 30 to LSU I would be shocked, seeing as they have given up decent points (if memory serves) to their early cupcakes.
