I turned off ESPN radio and John Seibel last night on the drive home because he was proposing the same crap. It was sickening. Hey Seibel, Mark May called, he wanted me to ask you not to steal the covers tonight when you get home. Look, here are the reasons CW and Ty should never be compared:
A) Ty brought us to 1 BCS game based on a lot of luck and a solid D left over from Boob.
Charlie has brought us to 2 BCS games with talent that no one would have begged for before CW turned them all into All-Americans.
B) Ty was more concerned with impressing the waitstaff at the South Bend country club more than actually bringing in quality football players. CW shows up at work every morning at 3 AM because he is committed to this team's success.
C) Ty only wanted to be the coach. He could care less about the university, the students, or the community. Weis has done everything and more that he can to elevate the public perception of himself and of his football team.
D) For all the criticisms we get of scheduling the likes of Army, AF, Duke, Navy, Ty LOST to those teams! CW is actually winning the games we're supposed to win. How many teams have beaten the likes of USC, scUM, LSU, and tOSU in the last 3 years? Maybe 10 total?
E) CW actually has an aspect of his coaching acumen that we can say makes him a good coach. What about Ty can you say he did well? Defense? If you think constant blowout losses to teams like Syracuse makes a good defense... Offense?? HA! The way Ty coached, you would think he was scared of the "goaline trolls."
F) Charlie, for all the negative press he gets for it, actually owns up to his losses. Congratulating USuCk after their 2005 victory(read scam), LSU, and tO$U he gets major style points for being a man about it. With Ty, you'd think he was trying to be the second coming of Ovid with some of his post-game(read thrashing) comments.
