You're starting to sound like someone else we know and love.

Brown has been sending mixed signals recently. He was actually leading me to believe that he would take his officials in the fall.

FYI, Svo posted something on GH again, saying he spoke with the same informant that said Brown to ND, and the result of that conversation is that Svo has backtracked from his first statement - said there's some confusion surrounding the matter and who is "in the know". <-- Paraphrase

isn't jeremy brown supposed to be on campus today?

Yes, but there is a rumor going around that he didn't make it in. Wheather that's true or not I guess we'll just have to wait and see. And if he didn't make the trip why is that, is it because he missed his flight, did personal reasons come up, or is he cooling on ND because they have so may DB commits right now?

If he wasn't on campus, I believe the only reason would be is that Charlie wasn't going to accept his commitment because of the numbers. He has long wanted to visit ND, so even if he cooled, I still think he'd take the visit. Only other option would be an emergency.

I am as well. At least they didn't allow him to spend the money to come up only to have them say we don't have any room for you anymore.

Even though the staff seemed to really like Jeremy, and he seemed like a strong bet to commit a few weeks ago, he just appears to be looking around over the last few weeks.

Not sure if it is him, the staff, mutual; or, maybe there was a personal matter. Something will 'bubble up' soon.

This will likely turn off Brown. The Irish staff is probably worried about numbers. Taking Brown would put other top prospects' spots in jeopardy. Butler is announcing in early August, Baldwin is waiting for a while, Walker has suddenly become interested, and I believe Harper is a more intriguing prospect on offense than Brown. These players are ahead of Brown IMO and Notre Dame wants some questions answered before allowing Jeremy to commit. Hopefully he is still an option if something/someone falls through.

Damn, I'm sad to hear that, I was really HIGH on Jeremy Brown. The staff better know what they were doing if they indeed told him to wait. Things must be promising. I didn't think there was any harm in taking the visit and commiting later on if the staff gave him the go, but I guess Charlie has a plan.

I'm also high on Jeremy Brown as a CB but not as a WR atleast while these other guys are on still on the board. With Blanton and Slaughter there is no room for him as a CB at the moment and no one in there right mind as talented as the kid is going to take him as a WR over the likes of the prospect that ND's hot after.

I stopped posting about Brown a couple of weeks ago because most were unwilling to consider the idea that once slaughter and blanton, and to a lesser degree mccarthy, came into the fold, his chances were thinned considerably. many convinced themselves that he was interchangeable at WR or CB. Well, needless to say, I believe the coaches made the right decision.

Everything is complete speculation at this point. Why don't we hold off till we get some real evidence?

Wow. If what has been said above is true, poor kid. But that's the way it goes ... at least we were up front with him.

----Well, not it has nothing to do with Blanton, Slaughter and McCarthy because he still had a spot and a visit up until a few days ago. It seems like a #'s game now and Filer took up another spot and the staff may feel comfertable on somebody big pulling the trigger soon as well. Jeremy is perfect for a slot/coverage receiver where as Blanton and Slaughter are better are jamming zone coverage.

Nice post, IK - thanks for the info. So much for the "let's use up all the available scholarships and send the fifth-years packing" strategy, eh?
