Yeah, I agree, that at least 1 big time WR, probably Floyd, will or should be enough. I think Kamara is going to be huge for us the next few years. One other thing, look at New Englands WR corps a few years back, they were not all that big in stature and they came up big. I don't know, if we land him, great, if not, I'm not losing sleep over it.

If we land Brown, which I think is a great posibility, we could still get Floyd and Baldwin. Brown is not necesarily a CB nor a WR. For the numbers geeks out there, this can work and could likely be the senario.

While I like the talent that we've accumulated, I wouldn't give them AA status quite yet. Some haven't played a down of college football, so let's just wait and see what they can really do against top flight talent. (USC, Michigan, BCS bowl opponent) then I'll be ready to annoint them.

Go Irish!!!

I guess im being a little optimistic and just getting excited and ahead of myself. haha

Very true...the complection of Notre Dame recruiting is definitely heading in the right direction when our conversations tend to be about the best recruits in the nation.

how can CB tell brown that we have a spot for him no matter what. if filer commits (which i believe he makes his announcement tomorrow), and all 24-25 spots are filled, why does he get the exception? its not like he is the top player in the country or the top MLB in the country for that matter.

-------Jeremy is a CB/WR....are you thinking of Sabino? If so I think Sabino as an OLB really deserves it because OLB is a huge need and he's very top talent.

i'm sorry you are right, i did confuse him with sabino. but that proves my point even more: brown is only the 17th best CB in the country, not #1. quick question, if brown verbally commits to ND, what happens to all his visits dates? does he still fly out to the other schools and eat their free food and act like he still "on the market" knowing that CW is breathing down his neck for not going against his word?

-----If he commits then those official visits will not happen. He's the 17th best CB in the country according to a recruiting service, not our staff.

I like Jeremy Brown as well, but I am not as sold on him committing during his visit as I was a couple of weeks ago. He seems to still be looking around - which is his right.

There were a couple of references to holding a spot for Jeremy (IrishDan); I have never seen comments around a spot being 'held' for Jeremy. As much as I would like to pull him in, I'm not sure that the staff would hold a spot while he decides.

------He meant Sabino. Jeremy has been told by CB to move his ass and get up here because he doesn't want Jeremy to be left out in the cold. So if he is ever going to commit it'll be during the visit or verrry shortly there after which I fully expect him to do. I'M GONNA SAY IT NOW. I BET BOTH MY NUTS ON A JEREMY BROWN COMMITMENT. If that doesn't come to fruition well then, I guess I'm not having kids.

You should lay off low balling these recruits. I have seen Jereme Brown's highlights. He is extremely good and he is under rated!!!.

Remember the name, Kerry Neal. He wasn't highly rated by the various services his junior year. But Charlie immediately offered him a scholarship after seeing his video highlights- 5:30 A.M. in the morning. Remember the name Toryan Smith. I believe he was a three star and not highly rated his junior year. These two players are going to make you happy, extremely happy.

Remember Justin Trattou. He was a four star according to the recruiting services. But his performance at the Army All American game garnered him recognition as one of the most dominating defensive ends at the camp.

Charlie and staff know something about talent..

Now watch them the upcoming years and determine whether the experts know more than Charlie Weis and his staff. Charlie has missed on only one recruit, And I hope that recruit can turn it around.

Thanks for the clarification. I wasn't sure from post 190 if IrishDan still thought a spot would be held for Jeremy. As much as CB/CW seem to like Jeremy, I didn't think that they could/would hold a spot for him.

I would like for you to be correct (obviously not as much as you - LOL), but I really think that IUB had some good logic for no imminent commit in a previous post (I think on Helmet).

I definately agree here. Should we only offer and accept the top recruits at their position? Get real, have some faith in Charlie and Corwin's evaluation of talent. Also realize they'll get the very most out of them. Note: More defensive players were drafted this year than offensive. Hmm.. gotta be a sign.

REPS for a Great Post! My sentiments exactly. Someone posted an article on here a couple months ago (I think it was IK23) and it had a discussion with Reggie Brooks I believe. He called Toryan Smith "my boy" and said he was a punishing hitter. Although I don't know, but he made it seem like everyone is high on Toryan and he is poised for a great season. Also, after seeing Kerry Neals tapes, I think he will be a good one too.

Thanks. The recruit I am talking about is not Zach Frazer. Zach was not a bust. Zach would have made it had Jimmy Clausen not come on board. Jimmy is suppose to be better than advertised, if you can believe that.

The player I am talking about is somewhat of a favorite. He still has a chance. His position coach is very highly respected in the NFL. I can't say only because it wouldn't be fair to the player, who is also an excellent student. Please forgive me, but it wouldn't be fair to the player especially if he can make the turn.

Scout.com: Brown: Trip to Georgia "Beyond expectations"

-----About his visit to Georgia....

"I was there for about seven hours," Brown said of his trip. "The coaches were in a meeting when I got there, and they all stood up and greeted me when I came into the room. We talked with the academic people for an hour, and we got a chance to see the seven-on-sevens and that was fun. They were really competing. We got to tour the campus and it was great. I went back after the meeting and talked with Coach Richt, Coach Martinez and Coach Johnson."

We can only hope that he does indeed join the ND list! He would be a big pick-up for the Irish!
