Irish early 14 pt dogs to USC, at home....

Wow, just saw some of the early preseason lines for some of the big college games and see that the irish are a 2 td underdog at home to USC.....

I realize the Trojans are gonna be good, but 14 pt road fav at nd, in a rivalry game, that is usually close, seems high to me......

there are some interesting early season matchups with other teams as well, and some surprising lines...

by the way, although i live in southern indiana, ND football is still my fav..followed by IU basketball and then IU football (which is usually scary).....

My stepfather lived in South Bend for years, and until the early 70's, owned a restaurant/bar right down from the Campus, and had season tix every year, so he is an avid fan, even still in his 70's.....

His restaurant was used for some of the scenes in "Rudy"..

yes, its useless trivia, but our claim to fame....:rockwoot:

I post at other sports forums, but never posted at a "school site".....

im sure it gets a lot more heated here, when an "intruder" comes in...

yeah same here....I'm a cubs fan too, and no matter what , i always think they can win EVERY GAME, and are never out of it....I guess thats what being a real fan is all about..

IMO, it's waaayyy to early to tell. At that point, we could be anywhere from 6-1 to (God forbid) 2-5. We'll just have to see how things are going at when we get to that game.

well hopefully its ok that i am a HUGE Bobby Knight fan, since he played at Ohio State...LOL

Otherwise, no affiliation to anyone at the "horseshoe"

I just read that. The last paragraph said something I haven't heard in a while: Our defense will keep us in games. It's a pretty good read, except they spell Weis with two s's once. Needless to say, I shuddered.

good thing about the Irish, we get alot of exposure...so if we can get out early and get some good wins, we certainly move up in the polls faster than other teams....

we can gain in the polls with 2 wins, what it takes a boise state or ncstate 4 wins to do....

Nice read, I'm shocked someone has mentioned us to possibly go BCS bowling once again. I wouldn't be surprised if it happened. I would love to tell the skunkbears all about how our overrated coach took us to another BCS game again. Sorry, I just get pissed at the notion that UM fans think LLoyd is such a great coach and our coach is overrated and fat and sloppy, you guys get the picture. Anyway, enough of my bitching, and bring on the season!!!!

14 points I am going heavy on the Irish. That is easy money. Real line will be 9 at most.

USC gets a lot of love too though......

But after the bad game in SoCal last year, u gotta think the Irish will be up for this one....and its just hard for ANYONE to beat the Irish by 2 td's in South Bend....

There is just too much karma there...they might lose, but rarely get blown out..
