He must be very fast ... Harper drops back, plants, and lets it fly down the right sideline and ... Harper makes the catch:scatter:

You know I didn't mean he played them at the same time. Although I used to do that in my backyard when I was a little kid.

Corwin Brown really likes this guy, but Chris would rather play QB in college. No major D1 college is looking at him there though.

I think what he may have to eventually ask himself it: "Would I rather play QB some tiny school in the middle of nowhere and get no exposure, coaching, or competition, or WR at a top 10 school and flourish?" Hopefully he'll choose the second.

ND made Chris' top five, even without an offer, along with Kansas State, Missouri, Michigan, and Illinoi$.

If there is a transfer or two which I so think will happen I would love to bring in Chris Harper and find a position for him when he get's on campus. When it's possible I'm all for taking supe freak athlete and trying to make them into something. Could you imagine him at SS with his speed and size that would be hella fun to watch.

Richoet, are you speaking in the "know" about a transfer or two? Or, are you just guessing since some of the current guys MAY be passed up on the depth chart?

This isn't in the know info, it's more speculation than anything else but the one person I know thats in the know think there is a decent to good chance atleast 1 or 2 players could move on if they don't make an impact this year especially with the talent thats coming in with this recruiting class.

It's not a given that any of this will happen but more of a feeling do to the fact that kids want to play and while these kids like ND it's about getting an education and playing football and for some getting the education and no PT isn't good enough and that they want the experience of actually playing on Saturdays.

Whenever you take in a class as big as Charlie's first true haul of 28 recruits - and I'm not talking about a Florida class of 28, where theres a virtual guarantee that a handful of them won't qualify - you pretty much go into it expecting to see some transfers from a group that big. We've already begun to see that with the Frazer to UConn move. Maybe it stops there this year, but when you bring in more kids in a class than there are starting jobs on a football team, more often than not you'll run into some disgruntled kids that want PT somewhere.

That's why ND could take up to 25 players this year if they have the chance.

I think this class end up being quite a bit bigger than most think it will be, no inside info just a gut feeling.

Why do you think we have a few transfers coming? I also don't see CW going back on his walk-on schollie commitment. I think we are in at 24 this year.

Well, I do think we could count a couple of scholarships against last year if guys enrolled early (that's what we did in '06). But once again, I don't see that happening, and I agree with you that 24 is the likely number whether or not we get an early enough indication of a couple of transfers.

-----Early enrollee's don't count towards overall scholarship #'s so it wouldn't help us take any more. Anything over 24 is ludacris.

Yes, that's right about the scholarships - sorry. In any case you're right that going over 24 would be silly unless (1) there are definite transfers, and (2) the guys who put us over are absolute studs. In any case I still do think it would probably be unwise.

since yeatman is only going to play lacrosse after this season, maybe we will take 25, but i would prefer 24 so more seniors(see crum, lambert, others) can return

You mean he's not playing football? I hadn't heard that - man, that sucks!

(P.S. I thought he didn't count against our football scholarships anyway?)

THE IRISH BROGUE

Will Yeatman will probably end his football career after this season and concentrate fully on Lacrosse. He will get Charlie's blessing and easily become a college lax All-American. With Ragone, Reuland, Rudolph, and Fauria ready to go in '08--not to worry. We tend to believe it.

He was originally going to come on a lacross scholarship, but it was latter decided that he would use a football scholarship.

Although I have yet to see this news reported anywhere esle at this point.
