I think he is going to be a good TE. Notre Dame in a few years are going have the best TE in college football.

Hey guys just thought everyone would want to be aware of this. It's the tease from a premium USC article.

Fighting The Irish?

USC coach Pete Carroll is scheduled to visit with Marvin Austin, the No. 1-ranked defensive tackle in the country, today. But we also hear Carroll might visit tight end Mike Ragone, who committed to Notre Dame almost nine months ago.

I honestly wouldnt worry about it, and here's why, and I promise you I am not making this up. I was at the game vs Michigan this year, and as I was waiting for the players to walk from church to the stadium a few hours before kickoff. I sat next to a tree in the middle of campus and people started to congregate there. Among them was Ragone, Clausen, and Gary Gray and a few other recruits and all of them had nametags. I was standing next to Ragone while he was talking to I think it was Joe Barksdale but dont quote me on that. I heard Ragone say to him to just end it and commit already (although he never did) and the guy asked him why he committed so early. Ragone said that at first he didnt know he wanted to go to ND, but once he got on campus he knew it was the place for him and said he is excited to tackle the challenge of all the expectations on the football team and the academics. Based on what I heard, I think this guy is all ND....

Barksdale did commit silently at one point. But he was also gave a silent to Michigan and then still went on visits, so they pulled his offer, then he did it to Texas, then Ohio State, then ND, back to Ohio St. and finaly the "University" of LSU. That's six silents to five differnt schools at some point. That's why teams like ND, Texas, and Michigan cooled on him and pulled his offers.

There's an article on Rivals that makes the Ragone/USC rumor sound quite doubtful...it included quotes. A recent article as well.

Mike was on Irish Tuesdays last night and he adressed the USC situation. He said he still picks up the phone out of respect, but he's solid with ND. Another positive from the interview is as of two weeks ago Mike's knee is back to 100% and his doctors have cleared him for all activities.

In other words: Ragone's a good kid; Carroll is an asshat.

Not saying that he isn't a solid commit, but we also thought that JT was a solid commit.

Go listen to the interview he just did. There's nothing to worry about. He said he was shocked by what JT did. Some one that was even considering doing the same thing wouldn't phrase it that way.

he's irish and he sounds like a good kid to boot...I can't stand half steppers...gentlemen we are going to have a very successful year this year....we may not win every game but I bet you we play every one like we're champs...I like it when even if we loose we take the steam out of whoever we play to the point that it affects the rest of their season...

Does anyone have any information on what's going on with Ragone? I've heard a couple of different times in different places that he's not on campus. Anyone know anything about this situation. I heard Frank describe it as a personal issue on Power Hour. Any enlightenment would be greatly appreciated.

What you just said is about all we know, except that he should be back on campus soon.

He had to go back to NJ for a short while to address a personal situation that deals with his family.

Its all pretty tight lipped... but he should on campus in early August. We may never hear an explanation - I guess its up to Ragone himself.
