I like our odds considering how ND's out-recruited Michigan this year. I think what's working in our favor is the long term future of CW vs. Carr....... anyone agree?

I hope so. They've had better talen recently and it really showed last year. That should change starting in 2008.

Considering the # of visits he took to ND, I like our odds. It was something like 5 for the Irish, vs. 2 for UM or something... one of the posters on DD theorized that the UM visit is his fallback plan. Trevor is basically saying, "I'm interested in 2 other schools, bye bye Nebraska!" So he's pretty much putting himself out on a limb.

If he shows up in South Bend, and they say, "We're all filled up", then he's got to have a plan B - that being Michigan. Just my 2 cents.

I'm just saying that they could take 5, and they have 4 commits at OL. There's still space for him if he wants. But FWIW, I'm not hearing a lot of chatter from either Michigan site affiliated with scout or rivals. The Robinson news seems to be oriented with ND, moreso than UM.

I think this may be the much debated "Mike Frank surprise mystery recruit"

Trevor says he's still commtted to Nebraska just making sure of his commitment. Lip service IMO. He's just softening the blow to NU fans for when he comes to ND! I'm optimistic.

Agreed. Honestly, between Michigan and Notre Dame he's made 7 visits by my count (most to ND). Does he REALLY need those extra visits to clear up his 2nd thoughts? Its fishy to me... maybe he is genuine, but it sounds pretty similar to the comments I hear from the Josh Jenkins "verbal" to West Virginia...

While he may be commited to NU, I was wondering if something like this might happen to the young man. I thought I read something somewhere that he was under a ton of pressure to commit to in state NU, but I could be wrong, it happens from time to time. I just thought it very odd that he made a 3rd trip in a matter of 3 or 4 weeks, then he ends up commiting to NU after he gets back. I would love to have him, but I'm not going to get too excited about it until he gives CW his commitment.

Go Irish!!!

Well the fact that Robinson chose Nebraska was a shock to Mike Frank at the time, who had a lot of contact with Trevor and as far as I know has maintained that contact.

Wouldn't be surprised if he felt the pressure, gave in, then had some kind of epiphany.

I remember hearing something about it too... that he came back from his last visit as a Domer lean, but when he arrived in Nebraska they went full court press on him or something, in a big way... who knows but him. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed - even though it may mean I'd have to retire my role as the driver of the Kenneth Page fanbus.

Yeah, I kinda like Page as well. I think he has some great upside to him playing in the heart of SEC country.

Go Irish!!!

I would take either but I think Robinson has more upside... I think he will be an All-American with good coaching.

By reading the article you could tell he just wants to be left alone. The kid obviously doesn't know if he wants to go to the homestate school and people are all over him for it. He said it's really stressful, but the guy won't be visiting ND again on his own dime to "make sure" he made the right decision. I expect him to end it while in SB, if not? get lost and just stay committed to Nebraska. I don't like flip floppers, so if he realized he is an ND kid then end it there. We are in the middle of a numbers game....get on or stay off.

I agree with you about his angst. Its obvious that he felt bad having to tell the Nebraska coaching staff about his decision to take other visits. You don't make such a decision without any remorse or stress, 'cause you form positive relationships with a lot of these guys. He's still a 17 year old, so its going to be harder on him than it would a guy 10 years his senior. He's trying to do the right thing by not sneaking around on his coaches, and in a way he gets penalized by having all these people get in his ear. I just hope he doesn't end up bombarded by guys from scout and rivals on a daily basis.

That said, it is now or never with the Irish. There's smoldering coming from a bunch of different camps (Filer, McCarthy, the Floridian visitors, etc), so he'd better be decisive in this instance. Otherwise, he might hurt both ND with another prospect they'd have to say "no" to, as well as himself, if his actions prove he isn't trustworthy here.

It is only a visit to make sure he went to the right place. That is it, so just let him do his thing and let the coaches talk to him and we just sit back and wait.

This really couldn't look any better for Notre Dame. They lost his commitment, then he starts "looking around", same as his teamate. This is one reason why I don't feel Nebraska is a player anymore. Something's going on there. I've got a feeling he'll be talked to by Corwin Brown. Why not? Charlie already missed on this guy once. He'll pull out all the stops this time, magic has been worked on other guys considering UM when they get a dose of Corwin. Hopefully he will talk to Gary Gray too, considering he went through pretty much the same situation.

Robinson is good. I want Robinson. We need this guy!

Cue the sarcastic letter-writer sketch from Mr. Show.
