The Irish land another!! Charlie Weis, Corwin Brown and the Irish staff landed yet another key defensive recruit this morning when Notre Dame received a verbal commitment from Jamoris Slaughter. Slaughter, a 6-1 Defensive Back from Stone Mountain Georgia is listed as a four star prospect by both rivals and scout. This makes Slaughter the 16th member of Notre Dame’s 2007-08 recruiting class. Of course this news will only further the recent boom of confidence that Irish fans have been feeling towards new defensive coordinator Corwin Brown. One might comment on the now seemingly endless possibilities in this year’s class on the defensive side of the ball. For more on Jamoris Slaughter and the rest of Notre Dame’s commits check out our recruiting profiles http://www.irishenvy.com/forums/2008-recruiting-profiles/

Corwin Brown has been Charlie's biggest 'commitment' yet. I can't wait to see Notre Dame's new defense. The 2008 Recruiting Class is 'brilliant'. I wonder how those other fools (who jumped ship) feel about renigging on their verbals from the Class of 2007. Personally, I don't know why any 4 or 5 star high school football player wouldn't want to play for Weis & Brown at Notre Dame. You get to play on a National Stage (virtually every game broadcasted nationally on radio and television), and it's a veritable six-lane expressway to the Pros.

I was thinking the same exact thing last night, specifically Greg Little. That guy was such a stud athlete, he could have been something special on a National Championship team. I wonder how he will feel when Butch Davis does nothing with North Carolina. If I know one thing about college football, it's that success as a coach in the state of Florida doesn't mean you can coach.
