Katz, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that the UM you are talking about is no worry at all for ND, it's the UM that is further west that we should be concerned with, that, and the potential effect of a Gainesville bbq.

------I agree, I see UF, Minn, and OSU being main competition IMO.

Ditto. I'd maybe flip the order around a bit, but I think those are the others that attract him. I still feel pretty confident though. Needless to say though it'll be nerve racking if he doesn't decide before his senior year.

News concerning Floyds upcoming road trip to various schools.....

He's taking tour of to various schools between June 20th and June 27th. He's going to Wisconsin followed by ND, UM, OSU. Here is the catch though after those visits he is coming BACK to ND for ANOTHER visit. He has a visit to Florida on July 20th so I don't like that. If he is making two trips to ND during this tour could he end his recruitment? or will he go to Gainesville and attend BBQ's and be told "It's cold in South Bend"...Floyds response would be "But Urban, I'm from MinneSNOWta I'm used to the cold".........Urbans response....."See the brown bag over there...don't ask what's in it, it's yours."

His visit to Florida is for "Friday Night Lights." My understanding is that FNL is a big combine where a lot of the nation's top players go, and also receive tours of UF before or after the camp. Floyd might be going more to test his ability against some of the south's top prospects and not just to visit the Gators. I may be off on this, but that is my take.

I wouldnt expect a commit from him on his second trip to ND, but I wouldnt rule it out just because he has a visit to Friday Night Lights on tap.

Anyways, the dual visit thing is pretty promising for ND's odds. Considering the way some of the other schools are recruiting, its starting to appear that it'll be ND, Minnesota, and UF as the top competitors. Ohio State only has somewhere around 5 spots left for their class, and already has at least one WR (two if Stoneburner plays WR as well). Michigan is putting more of their eggs in the baskets of Jonathan Baldwin, Darryl Stonum, and Vaughn Carraway. Not to say that situation could change, but I think they were scared off by the early interest in ND from Floyd, and hitched their wagons with other recruits.

Minnesota was going after Floyd no matter what, and Florida... well, we know why they would've wanted to offer a kid ND did...

I still think that Floyd ends up Irish. We would have had him had Buckner not been swept away by Texas at the last minute, and I still think we've got enough going for us to get him in the fold.

--------I heard he will not be competing in any camps or anything like that, just visiting everywhere.

That would make a lot of sense. He competed in camps last year, so he's already got as much out of the camping experience as he probably ever will. He's got a list of suitors he's happy with, so there isn't any pressing need to "impress" the coaching staffs he's visiting at these camps.

Not to mention the harem of busty bikini-clad young women lounging around where that brown bag is. Urbie is a cockwad and will pull out all stops, as we all know!

I like the idea of him committing on his 2nd visit and going to Gainesville to recruit for us.

Cretin's Floyd starts shopping for college - Highly ranked receiver favoring Midwest programs

Its down to 7, and the only "outsider" is Florida. Some interesting things in this one. Doesn't sound like he'd be planning to verbal some time this summer, but its nice to see that we are the only school that has an official scheduled with him. Its a pretty nice article.

In the article it says that he does have a USC offer, but has eliminated them from consideration. :)

Apparently Floyd ran his own clinic at Michigans camp this week schooling the undesirables left and right. I hope Michigan got a close look at him giving one on on lessons to other Michigan hopefulls because they will be getting plenty of it for the next 4 years that he is at ND. He should be here today or tomorrow for a 4 day trip...and then back next week....

I like the optomism, I see him doing great things here. Be nice to wrap him up within the next coupla weeks. This could end up being our best class since the early 90's.

This coming from either scout or rivals I presume?

And Its nice to see Florida outside the top 5... though, a visit can change everything, so if that is still on tap I'm a little bit nervous.

What are the chances he waits until the AA game to committ or even further, NSD?

Those odds are pretty decent. He hasn't been on the pulpit saying, "I want to commit to a school by ____," but he's made it pretty clear that there won't be any rush to commit. The earliest I could see him verballing is after he takes some official visits, but an AAA game announcement, or even further is not out of the question with Baldwin.
