My favorite, bar none, was Defender. After that, it would probably be space invaders, galaga, and maybe baseball. All played on the venerable Atari 5200.

One of the best games of the time, according to yours truly, was one of the first good b-ball games called Lakers Vs. Celtics. It had 5 on 5 with Magic, Kareem, Worthy against the hated Celtics of Bird, McHale, Ainge. Even had Jordan as an up and coming star. I think I played that on a Tandy computer (yeah, you heard me), which I think had like a 100 or so kb of ram. Oh, the good 'ol days before windows.

Arcade game: Spy Hunter. Only played it once in a hotel when I was traveling w/ my family but loved it.

Computer Game: King's Quest. You had to type in all the commands but the graphics were awesome (for that time).

Pole Position was pretty dang cool for awhile. Alot better than the first Atari 1600 where all you had was a black screen and two dotted lines for a road. LOL

Defender by far was the best old school game. Then it is a tie for second between Contra and Tecmo Bowl. In that Double Dribble game the highlights of the dunks were outstanding(ha ha ha...)

Anyone remember Chip's Challenge?

NES - Tecmo Super Bowl was awesome. Way ahead of the time, and it's still one of the coolest games around. Dusty Diamond All-Star Softball was one of my favorites as well.

Other than that, Goldeneye was pretty cool.

Defender, kind sir, was a hell of a game where you blasted a bunch of stuff. It was on Atari 5200. Might have been a year or 10 before your time. :)

Street Fighter II was by far the best arcade game of it's time!

Mastering Ken made you unbeatable unless you played another Ken character.

Atari - Kaboom and Haunted House

NES - Contra, Tecmo Bowl, Double Dragon

SNES - Goldeneye (Great!!!)

The best game of all time is Maniac Mansion for NES. I'm telling you guys this was way ahead of its time. Addictive.
