Sanders attended Notre Dame's last Junior Day. It was his second unofficial visit to Notre Dame, but he has not been offered yet. He has a lot of scholarship offers, but interestingly enough, Ohio State has not yet offered either, despite the fact that one of OSU's recruiting gurus list Sanders as the #2 OL in the state of Ohio, (behind only Mike Adams) and the #9 overall player in the state.

Sanders lists a GPA of 3.475, and is on Rivals 100 to Watch list for 2008.

Irish Eyes Headline Blurb:

Sanders Would Like To See The Irish Offer

So would a lot of High School Juniors. Sanders would most likely want an ND offer because OSU has not offered him yet, and most likely will not. Also, an ND offer might give him enough of a rep that USC would offer him. OSU & USC are all Sanders ever talks about, so I am not really sure what other possible reason he might have to want to see an Irish offer. Maybe the story explains it further, but I have no access.

Anyway, Zebrie has an offer from the Cockwad, which right now is probably worth as much to him as no offer from the Irish.

It is almost certain that OSU won't offer Sanders because of verbals from Adams, Brewsters and JB, and on top of that, we are in on others like Jenkins and Greg Shaw and Stevens (another Ohio OL who I think is better than Sanders). An offer might be unlikely even on an year with 20-25 schollies.

PS: Who is cockwad?

I kind of figured that ant80, don't you think Sanders is hoping for something from ND to leverage against a possible offer from USC and others, excluding OSU. I don't think he will get an ND offer anyway, but stranger things have happened. What is peculiar is that your boy Kurelic rates Sanders as the 2nd best OL in Ohio, a sentiment that you and the OSU staff obviously do not agree with, as well as most other recruiting sites.

Agree with you on the first part. Don't know how everybody rates OLs, but Adams, Mealer (UM verbal) and Stevens are my 1st 3 OL in Ohio right now.

Mealer was an OSU fan all his life. But JT told him that he would have to greyshirt in 2007, which made him commit to OSU. Any other year, Mealer would've received an offer. This shows two things: how big of a gap we had between #1 and #2 OL in Ohio, and how much of a schollie crunch we are in this year.

Sanders would want an offer in the same extent that Ben Habern wanted one, he's not interested and would only be pumpin up his offer list. We are fine with OL right now so I don't expect nor do I want an offer to go out to him.
