Who was the knucklehead that encouraged Walker to enter the draft? What a waste.

I know he was stupid. He still shouldve been drafted though. Is he aloud to return to nd not this season but next season.

Nope, once you delcare for the NFL you are done in college. But even if this was the NBA he would be done as well, because once you hire an agent to prepare for the draft you're done. Don't worry though he'll be picked up tonight or tomorrow as an undrafted FA, and ND should be set at RB for years to come.

I think it worked out for everyone. Honestly, another year would not have helped him much, and ND is probably better off with all the talent we have now. In addition to getting Hughes.

Man - that's too bad. Darius deserved better than that.

He still needs to come back and finish his degree. He has the money, remember he had a lawsuit settlement out of court for a few million dollars prior to coming to ND, I'm sure he still has some cash.

I'm not he didn't exactly have a stellar year...gentlemen look what happened with our guys. That in fact shows why we didn't accomplish what was wished for prayed for...the talent level has been average and this draft showed it...wait for about 3-4 years and see how our men are drafted. As the talent level rises so will our draft

can't he still go and try out for a team and be a walk-on?

Rhema didn't get drafted either.

They'll both have homes by the end of the week... at least trainning camp invites...

Nice. Link to the info? Freeman and Frome were never mentioned. I did see ESPN say Leak FA invite to Bears. I think Powlus could outplay Grossman. Today.

How did the defense stink so bad last year considering that the entire starting defensive backfield will have been drafted after next year's draft as Wooden & Zibby should get picked. Add that to Ndukwe & Richardson going this year (better late than never!). I do realize that Richardson & NDukwe will most likely be special teamers &/or backups but stranger things have happened.

We all can agree that if Laws continues to improve he'll get picked next year. That would mean that at least 8 of last year's starting 11 on defense should get a fair shot at making an NFL team. Who knows about the LBs, but Travis Thomas will most likely be looked at from the RB position. Maybe it was coaching/schemes after all. Glad we got new blood w/ Corwin Brown.

I've hear he's almost done now, and all he needs a a typical summer's corse load.

Darius Walker would not have improved his draft position if he had stayed for another year. He thrived in our offense last year, but our offense with limited skill/experience at QB and WR will be more of a ball control offense. Not nearly as many draws and screens, and we won't use the shotgun nearly as much as last year.

Rhema Mcknight not getting drafted is a real shocker to me. He had 15 TD's last year! I thought for sure that he was a 3rd-4th round guy, so I am still surprised that no team picked him up. Would have thought that the Browns might have thought about it given their limited talent at WR and with Brady Quinn, but I'm sure he'll have a contract soon.

I wish these guys nothing but the best. They always have an ND degree to fall back on and that says something.

I was suprised Darius didn't get drafted at all, even though I didn't think it would be day one. He just isn't fast enough to start in the NFL.
I was very surprised Rehema McKnight didn't get drafed either. People were taking WR's from Whitworh before a guy who went to ND, give me a break. I know he loses focus sometimes but the guy can catch and jump he would make a good pro. I can't believe the Browns didn't take a shot a Rehema since they had Brady.

Someone told Walker some bad info, you would not go pro early if you did not think you were going to at least be a 3 or 4th round pick. I wish him the best.
McKnight is going to make the Saints look real smart for picking him up. He is a great receiver and will make something happen.
What round does everyone think Samarija would have gone?

Whoa - that was way harsh and entirely unnecessary. Sorry, but I gotta give negative reps for that one. Looking forward to seeing you redeem yourself.

I certainly don't disagree with much of this -- Darius wasn't the perfect back, he lacked speed, etc. etc. But "glad he is gone"; "overrated"; "better off with him gone" -- that's out of line an deserves a rep. smackdown. The kid worked his ass off for four years behind consistently week o-lines and nearly rewrote our record books in the process ...

Best of luck, Darius! We'll miss what you brought to the table!

Whether I like a guy or not, for a guy like Darius to not get drafted is a shame. As for the statement earlier ref : "being glad he is gone" that is totally uncalled for. Darius will do fine with whatever he decides. Best of luck to him, through it all, Darius was nothing but class, as all the ND players were this year and every year.
