Did anyone check out Mike Coffey's blog on NDNation? He reports that 2nd yr. Badger coach, Bret Bielema, is still pissed off that Wisconsin didn't get a BCS bid. And who do you think he blames for this travesty of justice? Notre Dame.

Did he blame the fact that his conference agreed w/ the rest of its members to limit each to two teams getting BCS bids? No. Did he blame his own team when they choked like Mama Cass on a ham sandwich when they had Michigan in their grasps? No. Did he blame himself by saying as Mike Coffey suggested, "The buck stops w/ me; had we won more games we'd be BCS bound"? No. Did he attribute his weak-ass out of conference schedule? No. Did he blame his conference scheduling that failed to match his Badgers up w/ the Buckeyes? No.

What would Weis have most likely done? Blame himself & the fact that his team didn't perform well enough to deserve the bid. When will ND haters realize that the BCS is only designed to match up the #1 & #2 teams in the BCS poll? After that, it's all about the benjamins & who travels, etc. Personally, I'd prefer if Notre Dame had gone to the type of bowl Wisconsin went to, but I don't begrudge them for taking the best package offered. I agree you can make a case for Wisconsin to be in the BCS, but their own conference were involved in agreeing to the rules; live by the sword, die by the sword. You can also make as many, if not more, cases why they didn't get a bid to a BCS.

Wisconsin didn't exactly impress anyone by beating Arkansas in their bowl. For crying out loud, they had negative offensive output & still eked by admittedly a more talented Arkansas team. Give the Badger defense credit, I guess. On second thought, give the credit to the Razorbacks lack of coaching acumen which lead to any DC w/ a brain to figure out all they had to do was stop McFadden/Jones & dare the Hogs to pass which they've proven they are poor at.

It's getting that there's no Big 10 teams that I respect anymore. They all sound like a bunch of whiners & love to cry a river how Notre Dame needs to join a conference if they want to be included in the BCS. Why don't you idiots stay in your little socialist conference where you can share the wealth like a commune of hippies. In the meantime, try winning your damn games on your weak-ass schedule and you won't have to cry about unfairness. Life ain't fair, wear a helmet. Oops, they already do. But you'd think they'd learn that life isn't fair while studying for their degrees in "Toga Parties" & "Keg Stands" to ensure that Wisconsin remains amongst Playboy Magazine's top 5 party schools in the nation. J/K, it's a fine school, but you get my point.

I can see why he felt they deserved a BCS spot. It wasn't in the rules however, and was months ago. Get over it.

But wait, here's O$U schedule for this upcomming year.

Date Opponent
Sept. 1, 2007 Youngstown St.
Sept. 8, 2007 Akron
Sept. 15, 2007 at Washington
Sept. 22, 2007 Northwestern
Sept. 29, 2007 at Minnesota
Oct. 6, 2007 at Purdue
Oct. 13, 2007 Kent
Oct. 20, 2007 Michigan State
Oct. 27, 2007 at Penn State
Nov. 3, 2007 Wisconsin
Nov. 10, 2007 Illinois
Nov. 17, 2007 at Michigan

They can trip and fall all over themselves and still end up with 8 or 9 wins.

Everyone likes to talk about who has ND played , but Myth-again has 1AA Appalachian St., and Eastern Michigan on thier schedule along with quite a few traditional Big Ten doormats, and Penn State's schedule includes the likes of Florida Int'l, Buffalo, and Temple along with their version of the Big Ten doormats.

I never thought to highly of any Big Ten schools....I mean they've got 11 schools. They should at least change the name to the "Big Ten+1" and let them figure out which team is the "+1". Wisconsin and (t) Ohio State's schedule is so easy it's embarrassing. Everyone chumps at the bit ref ND, but what they don't understand is that all ND's games are conference games. Loose 1 and done ref NC game. I don't know if you heard this one but on EDSBS blog, they said, "Charlie Weis is Fat !!!!!" Never heard that one before LOL !!!

Wisconsin was a better team than ND last year. Better teams don't always get the higher bowl, though, and Bielema was not right in complaining about it, because of the two-team conference rule. Not smart on his part--but he did make a mockery of the timing rule last year against Penn St., so it evens out a bit.

What an asshat. ND's "exemption," as he calls it, has nothing to do w/ the 2-per-conference rule.

Plus, Bret Bielma is hardly a model sportsman. During the UW-Penn State game, he too advantage of the new clock rules. He ran out the clock in the first half by kicking off the ball out of bounds, over and over again. Not that I didn't enjoy JoePa's tantrum, but it was a crappy move.

His mockery of the rule is just what that rule deserved. He deserved kudos then, and still deserves them now despite his silly recent comment.

I agree the rule was stupid & needed to go away. I don't think it needed that kind of mockery to be gotten rid of, but I've been wrong plenty of times before.
