If he is on a football scholarship he better not be missing any seasons.
1) Last I heard, Rasheon McNeil is an Architecture major.
2) Notre Dame has a very demanding Architecture program. It's one of the top programs in the country, but it's very difficult to be successful in that program and have a life outside of that program. There were several architecture majors in my dorm freshman year, I almost never saw them. Typically, they were working all night on their next project.
3) Witness what happened last year with Joey Hiben:
According to published reports, tight end Joey Hiben has decided to give up his spot on the Notre Dame football team in order to concentrate full-time on his academic studies. Hiben wants to pursue a degree in architecture - which is a notoriously demanding program at the university - and he has apparently had a bit of difficulty striking an acceptable balance between football and schoolwork. Though leaving the football squad means Hiben will also have to forfeit his scholarship, the soon-to-be sophomore out of Minnesota is confident that he is making the right decision.

4) All architecture majors must spend their junior year studying in Italy. I don't think there are any exceptions.
5) I can't find any links right now, but I remember that both with Hiben and with McNeil, Weis has stated that classwork comes first and that he would fully support whatever they need to do to get their degree, including missing their junior year.
6) Here's a quote from an interview with McNeil:
BGI: You've mentioned architecture as a possible major. Have you been following the Joey Hiben situation, and will it affect your decision in terms of what to study?
RM: I still want to study architecture and I’m not sure of the Joey Hiben situation. If that didn't work out, I don't know what else I would get into. That's the only idea I have right now.
