I have read that Brett said during the AAA combine if ND offered that they will be very tough to beat. This is from an interview that he did with a reporter. I can't remember but it was rivals or IE.

I read the same thing. Then read conflicting reports.

NU seems to think Nagel is a perfect fit for their offense at either WR or TE.

His defensive tape is very good.

I wish I knew why Notre Dame hasn't offered him yet. Does anyone know why?

Maybe the reason they havent offered is he is an underachiever when it comes to academics. ND doesnt like Underachievers, especially in Academics

He has an offer from Northwestern, I would guess that his grades are fine.

Free (for now) Scout article on Brett Nagle. It does not look like there is much of a chance that Brett will be following Aaron to ND.

I don't know I think if we gave him an offer he might consider giving us a visit, but from the way it sounds I don't think we are really recruiting him considering how many other LB's we have offers out to and it sounds like we aren't really talking to him that much. Just what I gleamed from the article, would be nice to get if he is a really good player but I think we have really good chances with mutliple "better" players at his position.

I agree there does not seem to be too much interest on ND's part, and it seems to me, that reading between the lines, Brett might be a little upset about that. He had originally planned on committing in early March, I think the only reason he held off was hoping that he might get an offer from ND, but it is doubtful that he would get an offer anytime soon. ND seems to have a really good shot at getting possibly 4 of the 7 current LB offers, but if that does not pan out, Brett probably would get an offer. However, he is pretty adamant about committing early, and not likely to wait and see if a spot opens up for him at ND 9 or 10 months down the road.

Yeah, it's too bad. I'm sure that Brett will be a good player and a good student. He's suffering from the serious interest that CBrown is receiving from several elite LBs. Similar to the Brian Smith debacle last year.

SPECULATION: I'm guessing that the ND coaches have told Brett that they are expecting commits from several LBs during the spring game and if any of those fall through, he'll get his offer. This is probably why he's willing to wait until May...

I put myself in this position and being me, I would be angry with this from the coaches. I know I wouldn't like to feel 2nd best but then at the same time it is ND and I would like to play ball with my brother. It's almost like a catch-22. I hope things work out in both parties here.

I wish they would offer him and some others, but they are the coaches so let's just see what happens.

I understand that Brett Nagel is bigger and even a better athlete that Aaron. One real large problem, he has about 30 offers but none from Notre Dame. It doesn't appear that Weis is interested in him. About six line backers now have offers but nothing has been given to Brett as yet. I wonder why.

We should just write off the obvious, Shayne Hale is not coming here, so give a scholie to Nagel or Major whats the problem?

What about Arthur Brown, do you think he's coming to South Bend, so why not offer both Nagel & Major. Hold on, wait a minute what about Zordich, Spooner, Witherspoon, LeGrand, Meyers, Clancy and about 5 other LB’s that would love to have an ND offer, but are just a cut below the group that CW has offered. Oh, and what happens if you offer all of these guys and Hale, Brown & Sweat do end up coming to ND, and you have 10 linebackers in a class. Do you then do what the Cockwad does, and gently nudge some of them to another school? Not at Notre Dame.

Listen, I think it would be great if Brett Nagle were to get an offer, and he would probably accept it on the spot, but the coaching staff has commitments to the 7 guys they already offered, and that commitment does not end until these guys verbal to someone else, or NSD, whichever comes first. It is Brett Nagel’s choice to decide early, his current scholarship offers will remain in place all the way to NSD, so he could conceivably wait until then to see if an ND spot opens up. You can’t blame him for not waiting, and you can’t blame the coaching staff for not offering until they are sure they have an available spot. I think the coaching staff probably knows what they are doing.

He was just born in the wrong year. Last year there were a ton of really talented QB to offer, it just so happens that this year the same is true for LBs, and WRs.

IUB is right. The fact that we haven't offered him reflects the fact that the coaching staff is confident that we're going to end up landing guys who are even better than he is. Let's just hope that this time we're right about that ...

What?! Only freaking March? Do you have a source on that, or are you just getting that from Rivals? (Like I'd trust Rivals to get the month right.) Don't post stuff like this unless you have a reliable source.

Give me recruits NOW, or give me death.

No, I was going by some info that I found on Scout. But I probably shouldn't post it since I am pretty sure that Info (it being March) was premium info, and we don't want to get their panties in a bunch.

Whoa, man. Now there's this whole weird circularity thing going on:

1. Shamrock finds out from Scout that it's March now.
2. But since it's March, this is premium info.
3. So Shamrock tells us that he can't post what he found out from Scout since, it being March, the info is premium.
4. But that WAS the premium info in question!

I think we just created a loop in spacetime.
