Ticket Information for the Blue/Gold game

Does anybody know what the deal is with the Reserved Gold West Side Tickets? They're $30 each as opposed to the general admission tickets at $12 each. What makes the Reserved Gold seats better?

The only thing I can figure is that if you're on the west side, the sun won't be in your eyes during the game. But is that really enough to account for the tickets costing 250% more? Are they near the 50 yard line? Are they close to the field? Is there some special add-on that comes with those tickets?

Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Here's my picture of the empty stadium the morning of the Stanford game. You can clearly see the location of the gold seats.

is the spring players game on the 21st or 28th?

I would strongly recommend scrolling back to the top of the thread, clicking the link there, and reading everything. Should answer most of your questions.

Or in computer tech support terms... RTFM!

THAT is one sweet picture... and informative too! Thanks, Goshen. :eek:grin: I tried to RTFM, as it were, but the info on und.com didn't explain what the Gold Seats were.

Blue/Gold Spring Game

Blue/Gold Spring Game

Just wanted to remind everyone that was planning on attending that the tickets went on sale this morning.
The phone lines for the specialty seating was busy for over 2 hours this morning. So I said screw it and bought the g.a. seats. I'll buy a jersey with my savings!

I saw some attendance numbers coming out of last years game around 45,000 in the stadium, roughly 1/2 capacity. Is capacity the limit of tickets on sale. I'm hauling the boys up for Friday and Saturday from Tenn. Should I plan to buy my tickets on line or at the gate? The game won't sell out will it?

I cant imagine that it will sell out. But it I were you, and coming up from a far distance, I would buy them online, just for peace of mind. I would be so effing pissed if I drove up from Tenn and the game was sold out. Just me.

I'm with you on that. However making the trip will depend on wheather. I'm not looking to drive 8 hours north knowing that rain is in the forcast. Two years ago we made the trip to sit in snow. The boys and I loved it...the wife was not that thrilled. My only concern is holding off on tickets, not knowing what the wheather is going to do. I can wait until about 5 days out when I know for sure, then call and reserve the tickets. I can't imagine them selling out either.

It won't sell out and its general admission so there's no advantage to buying ahead of time.

So who is attending the game?

I'm going and bringing my boys. Just bought my tickets.

Who here has been before? Can you do us newbies a favor and post a description of the highlights? How different is it than a regular game? Do people tailgate?

Also, I remember reading that this year it's call the "Spring Football Festival" or something like that... has anybody heard what makes this a festival? Will they have clowns or rides or something odd like that?

I went last year. Yes people tailgate, IIRC, parking was free, and we parked on the paved lots. Lucked out last year with the weather. Was a fun day, bummed around campus, went to the bookstore, etc. No to the whole, clowns/rides paragraph. There is a brunch with team/sit in pressbox thing, but it cost some dough.

My brother and I are heading up together. ROAD TRIP!!!

I was gonna try to do the VIP brunch, but damn, I'd have an easier time breaking into the Pentagon than getting through that busy signal. I must've hammer-dialed that number for 2 hours straight. No dice. Finally had to give up and just get general admission tickets online.

Speaking of which... how quickly do the good GA seats get taken? If we want decent seats, how early should we show up to claim them? Anyone know?

The evening before the game, The Shirt will be unveiled at the bookstore. Apparently free food will be provided and your shot at nabbing a The Shirt 2007.

I wil be there with a friend. I was in line for an hour and twenty minutes to get the gold seats. The seats with the players were sold out in the first hour. They only had two people working the windows, so it was not a fast process. Plus one guy said he was there at 6:30 am and was still 50 people back.
