Heading to Savannah for their River walk block party and irish pub crawl with my wife. The day after I am heading out deep-sea fishing for two days.

Scranton has one of the biggest St. Patrick's Day parades in the country and it is this saturday. My day will start off at about 700 am with some kegs and eggs. Then I'll head downtown and drink my face off with all of the other drunken hoards. It really is a crazy day.

Stop by Dunder Miflin and have one for me will ya!

Satan:

Are you going for St. Patricks day?

You should also make your way up into the city and check out the parade and such. Go to Pinkie Masters which is on Drayton and Harris Streets about 5 blocks south of the River. The K of C is always a fun time on St Pat's day though it is mostly locals. It is on Liberty and Bull Street at the end of the Parade Route.

Churchhill's (obviously an English bar but everyone s Irish on March 17) is in the same area and a cool place. McDonough's is a good bar located 1/2 block north of Liberty Street (about 1 block north of Pinkie's). The Irish Times on Whitaker Street 1 block north of Broughton which is kinda like King Street in Charleston but not as nice (about 2 blocks south of the river).

On West end of River Street is Kevin Barry's - very good place. But it will be crammed.

Spanky's on the river is much fun as well.

River Street will be crammed so be prepared!

It has been a while since I went out in Charleston, however, I do remember Capones and liked it alot. What's the Irish Bar? Tom Clancy's or something? Pretty good music at the Music Farm as I remember.

Have you been to Pinkie's? There is a new Scottish Bar here in City Market. Am forgetting the name. Venus De Milo's on MLK is quiant little bar you may like - a little fru-fru however.

Capones has moved recently. It is not the red door on Bynes Alley anymore. It is dying a slow death. You might be thinkin of Tommy Condons in the market. That is a great place as well.. they still block off church street and south market for that. My new favorite bar is called Charlies Little Bar. it is located in the back of a building and if you did not have someone who knew where it is located you would never know it was there. Its a dark bar with huge dep couches wher i get to enjoy my cubans and a Blantons bourbon on the rocks.

Never been to pinkies. I may try it this year. My wife and i love the blues bars and real dives. We dont do fu-fu martini places, although i love the Velvet Elvis in Athens and that is fairly chic for a georgia bar :)wink: ).

Tommy Condons is what I was thinking of.

You need to go to Pinkie's - pure dive- on Drayon just south of Liberty - look for the Pabst Blue Ribbon sign (McDonoughs and SixPence are in the same area). I said Churchills earlier but meant Six Pence. Churchills use to be an excellent place but it burned and they reloacted and it now feels like TGIFridays or something.

Oh that is pinkies. definitely been there on my bachelor party. My friends made me eat pickled food item right after a Goldschlager. i dont know what it was but it was awful and i immediately threw up in the bathroom. Then we met a bum who looked like the DUDE from Big Lebowski. He drank white russians and everything. Hilarious. I mean it was in march and he was in a bathrobe and slippers and sunglasses at night.

Jesus, that food was probably 20 years old - the rest of the jar is probably still there!

What year? That may have been me or my cousin.

Oh, I forgot to give you hell about the wise ass class reference to Georgia. We shall always be thought of as a debtors colony!

I will be at the parade in NYC!! Cleverly dodging police as i conceal my open container of guiness. Then heading back to home to one of the largest irish populated towns in the US. Pearl River NY. Thats when the real fun begins!! More pubs that you can shake a fist at. I'll try to visit all, but i never make it. Then on sunday, i get to do it all over again as they have they're OWN parade!!! AHHHH, 2 St. paddy's day's. I ask you, what could be better?

LOL! It was three years ago.

I was wondering if you caught that. I am very subtle from time to time.

I'll make my mom's Irish soda bread recipe and bring it into work for everyone. My senior roommate from ND lives here in Portland too, but we can't go drinking cuz she's pregnant. :) :sigh: I guess I could get sloshed at her house though...although there's probably nothing worse for a pregnant woman than to watch everyone around her get wasted.

Congradulations, Irishnd31! There are only two words you have to remember for a successful and long marriage. "Yes, dear."

Thanks, but I have 2 words for your two words...."Hell no". LMAO.
