That guy had everythin and he keeps blowin it. People should just not take chances with hin because he just hurts the team. If he was a mediocre player people would not be as tolerent of his antics. I'm glad he's not the Pistons problem anymore.

Ok first off lets hold off on judgeing the guy until we know details, this isn't going to be as cut and dry as everyone thinks at this point I believe. If he was leaving the house to get away from her and she came out and through a pot through his windshield then I think he has a right to be pissed, now you never hit a woman but its not like he was unprovoked if that is how it played out. Does he have issues?Yes. Has he repeatedly put himslef in bad situations? Yes. But sometimes you gotta hear the whole story before you pass judgement.

Like you did in the thread on the Illini kids?

well, in my opinion, his reputation is established regardless of whether he is guilty of this offense or not.

Another tragic case of wasted talent. I think Artest has to be Bi-Polar to be this dumb. I think we should start a bi-polar club for the super athlete's. First member woud be Ron Artest, then Mike Tyson. Any other suggestions?

If a woman is man enough to physically assault me she had better be prepared to get beaten.

I never passed judgement on the Illinois kids, they got bigger problems then whether they are getting paid as athletes. It was more of a commentary on student athletes in general, I just saw things mentioned in that article that as a NCAA a person I would be curious about. But since you have the reading comprehension of a 5th grader, read into it what you will, you always do.

His reputation as a moron and a punk were already set I think this just makes it more obvious that he needs some serious mental help

Being from NYC and a RedStorm fan since a pup, and followed his career since High School. I will like to say I'm shocked how's he turned out. Use to curse the day the Knick's didn't drafted him. Now them day's are long gone.

I'm not a Artest fan, but in the slightest bit of defense for him, it sounds like it was mutual, and he was trying to leave. But I wasn't there so who know's. I think the thing that totally turned me off on Artest was the morning after the fight in Detroit he was on the Today show trying to use the incident to promote his new CD. Not sure who his PR people were, but they need to be fired.

He's got what most of these troubled athletes have: the absent father wound. Look at most of the inmates incarcerated today. Most will tell you that their father was nonexistent in their rearing. They end up being raised by a single mom who does her best to fill both roles. In doing so, the man has a difficult time relating to women as an honorable man would & chaos ensues. I know it sounds like psycho babble, but there's gotta be something to the absent father wound b/c it's so prevalent in society today. So all us dads gotta make sure we're positive influences on our sons so that they'll possess authentic manhood that incl. being accountable for their actions.
