First of all your age showed. I dont know where you got your info from but i would burn it along with the bible. When cows"fart" they produce methane not carbon dioxide.

Second the sources of CO2 are the following

#1-Respiration = includes all living organisms that are not plants and the respiration between the ocean and the air.
#2 Vulcanism= all volcanic activity on the planet.
#3 land use change = includes deforestation and soil erosion
#4 fossil fuel burning= includes industry and automotive sources of combustible fuels.

Since #1 and #2 generally fluxuate as part of the typical natural CO2 level this is accepted to be a background level.

The land use change includes deforestation. With less tress to take up CO2 and produce oxygen, the net CO2 level increases.

With more CO2 being generated from organic material more CO2 is being freed from organic materials and released into the air through industry and automotive means. This also increase the net CO2 level.

So, simply put CO2 is increasing and will continue to increase the more #3 and #4 increase because #4 affects #3 which inturn affects the everything else.

Say what you want about Big Tobacco, but if politicians were sincere about ridding the country of smoking, they'd call for a ban. But they never will b/c although they may not be addicted to nicotine, they are addicted to the billions of tax dollars that smokes bring in. Hell, look what almost every state did w/ their tobacco settlement money. They put it in the general fund & spent in on whatever they chose instead of pumping it back into anti-smoking programs, etc. If memory serves, only 2 of the 50 states actually put the money towards what it was earmarked for.

agreed. So far one of the only news channel that in my opinion is actually reporting stuff like this fairly is fox news. They take both sides of the arguement and use facts. In fact if the global warming believers thought about it there is really no warming at all. the carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases would make the sky brighter reflecting light. that would make it cooler. so wouldnt that prove that the earth just goes through cycles. Speaking of which, Stoney, did you hear Laura Ingraham's show last week? She played a segment w/ Geraldo Rivera (not exactly a conservative) interviewing the troops in Iraq. 90% of them (according to Geraldo's count) believe they are doing the right thing, support the war & are proud of what they are doing. All they asked is that the politicians back up their claim of "I support the troops". They want true support in the way of funding that they desperately need. They followed that comment up w/ the fact that their morale is truly affected by the negativity back home. And said that it affects their performance. They used the comparison of WWII vets who said they may have been away from home/family for a few years, but that the positive support that they felt from their loved ones & countrymen got them through the tough times. Every American should have heard these guys & gals speak their mind. It was truly refreshing.
