Hello there everyone, just your friendly neighborhood ACamp again. You were told the giveaways and special features of Irish Envy would make a comeback and here is the first! (But certainly not the last) We have noticed a ton of smack talk and gibberish from members of all ages in reference their skills on EA Sports’ great game NCAA Football 2007. The question has been asked many times…. “Who is the king of NCAA on Irish Envy?” Well boys and girls you now have your shot to wear the crown! Kicking off the new year of Irish Envy giveaways we’ll be holding a Varsity Member NCAA 07 tournament on Xbox Live. That’s right you heard me, but before you get all excited about your chances let me just tell you now that I myself will be entering, so any drama over who shall reign supreme may already be over. The good news for all you second placers is that the fun shall be the tourney itself… meaning that in the journey the true spoils are found that is. Basically this will be fun! Real fun! So now you’re probably wondering what the rules are; or what do I need to compete….? Well listen up!!!

What you need to enter—

1.) First you must have an Xbox 360
2.) A high speed internet connection
3.) A copy of EA Sports’ NCAA 07
4.) Xbox Live Gold Membership and…
5.) A Varsity Membership on Irish Envy.

You got all that and you’re ready to go bro! If you don’t have some of these materials listed yet, what are you doing just sitting there!! Get to it man!! This is your chance for ultimate bragging rights!!!

Rules—

1.) The tournament will most likely be double elimination depending on how many people enter
2.) Default settings will be a game with five minute quarters played on Heisman… However, you can choose whatever settings you like as long as your opponent for that round agrees with the change in settings. If no compromise can be reached you will play five minutes on Heisman.
3.) One game per player each round, no makeups!
4.) “Pulling the plug” will not be accepted… If anyone, at ANY time during the game disconnects from the server it will result in that player getting an automatic DQ for that game. If your server fails and you get a disconnect you can appeal to your OPPONENT for that game, if he or she agrees to replay the game you may do so. If not, then the game stands at a DQ. Basically pulling the plug will only cause you to be at the mercy of your opponent.
5.) The Irish Envy staff is the final ruling body in any discrepancies that may occur. Since this is a tournament and not a giveaway, I myself may participate, if any game I am involved has any discrepancy of any kind the rest of the staff will rule void of my involvement and so on…
6.) Everyone will use Notre Dame... ND vs. ND on every game... unless BOTH players in any given round agree otherwise. If an agreement is reached you may use any team you want for that round only and so on.
6.) Rules ARE subject to change before the tourney starts

--Okay so when does this thing start?

The first Irish Envy NCAA tournament will start when we have enough players entered, it’s that simple. This could be Monday or it could be at the end of the month, but the final cutoff will be the last weekend of February with the tourney starting no later than that. *IF* enough players sign up quickly, the tourney will start sooner. The size and shape of the brackets will depend on the amount of players entered.

--So how does one enter the tourney?

Very simple actually, if you are a varsity member with the required hardware and wish to compete, simply post in this thread you are ready to go and drop your Xbox Live user tag…

Example…

I’m ready and willing! User tag- ACamp1900

Got it? Good.

Now to the good stuff… the prizes

Of course the winners of each round will be able to earn the ultimate prize in our little playoff… bragging rights!!

But for those who want the gold, the winner of our tournament will receive the ultimate title, King of NCAA!!! On top of that the winner will receive $10,000 in Irish Envy "cash" good for the sports book and vbPlaza. As well as DVD copies of the national broadcasts of three classic Notre Dame Football games from our last National Title run from 1988.

-Notre Dame vs. USC
-Notre Dame vs. Miami
And of course
-Notre Dame vs. West Virginia

Each game is a must have for any die hard Irish fan and each will be a copy from my own personal collection. With that being said, let’s get this thing started people!!! But remember to bring your “A” game because this is where the big boys eat….. let the games begin...

I like Xbox better than PS2 for sports games. I have all three of the major generation 6 game consoles (Xbox, PS2, and Game Cube) and Xbox is by far my favorite, and Game Cube is the easiest to deal with. I know I would be in, but I'm waiting to get a Xbox 360 (Generation 7 Game Console) untill the new NCAA football game comes out, and Halo 3 comes out this Nov. exclusively for the 360. If anyone has played Perfect Dark for the 360 let me know how you liked it. I absolutely loved it's multiplayer mode on the N64.
